I changed the keyboard layout to English International, still I can type in English as usual, BUT I can get the ñ by typing CTRL+ALT+N or the Ñ by typing CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+N
or the accents
á : by typing '+a
é : by typing '+e
...
So how do you change the layout of your computer?
go to Control Panel => Regional and Language Options
go to the Languages Tab
click on Details... button
click on Add... United States-International
make sure you delete the other one or make this recently added the current layout.
cheers!

You already got the answer on how to get the ñ and à using the ALT key.
Another option is to use the characters map in your computer, which basically shows all the supported characters for each font. Just go to your Start Menu>All Programs>Accesories>System Tools>Characters Map --- Finally just select the character you are looking for to have it copied to the clipboard to paste it anywhere in your computer.
Few people actually know that this feature exists in Windows so give it a try.

Keep ALT pressed and type 164 on the numeric keyboard right side of yr computer (not numbers on the top- they don't work for this function !!) and then release . You'll get "ñ".
For capital à it's ALT 165.
However this is the website I'm using for all special caracthers ( I've Windows) -http://www.forlang.wsu.edu/help/keyboards.asp

It's really simple, you see. If you want the small size just hold on to the "Alt" button and press the combination "164". And if you also want the BIG size do the same thing but the combination is diiferent it's combination is "165".
I know it works, i just hope you understand it. Good Luck!

If you are using Windows you can either:
type: alt+0241 for small ñ
alt+0209 for capital Ã
or use a programme called "Character Map", which can be found in the System Tools section of "Accessories" .
