I had an LDR and it ended up we both moved to the halfway point. Then we got married. then we got divorced. We both still live in the town we both moved to. I guess anything is possible. I wouldn't consider an LDR now. I'm to practical. I do think you have to close on a relationship within a year and move on if it has no solid direction. Time is of the essence-especially for women-but men too. Most men and women do better if they are in pairs.

In my experience, they most def can work as long as both people put a little extra effort in the relationship. I live 4.5+ hours away from my boyfriend and we have been in this situation for over a year. We both set aside time that we can visit each other. It is extremely hard for me because I don't own a car yet, so I usually have to catch a ride with my roommate to visit him. But our relationship is still very strong and I think being able to be apart from each other has only strengthened it. In short....YES Long Distance Relationships do work!

When I met my husband, he was already an Army man. We dated for a year and a half, and the whole time it was long-distance. Next month, we celebrate our five year wedding anniversary. In order for a long distance relationship to work, you need a huge amount of communication and trust.

Good luck.

It does only if you always keep in touch and show how much you care. Keep the person busy by communicating always otherwise you ignore there are so mnay temptations involved
