Most likely the things you are arguing about are not the real causes of the problems. Try to get to talking about the real problems without arguing.
It's probably too late to fix things, and you should be making plans to move on, but you can still keep trying to fix things too. Focus on the really important things and let the small stuff go.
You could also ask him if there is anything that you could change about yourself in order to stay in the relationship. Listen closely to his answer and don't argue with him about his answer. If he tells you anything then you can decide if you want to make the changes or not.

Vanessa, you already know the answer to that. You can't "make" anyone change their mind. But let's look at what you're telling us. You have had a stormy relationship for 2 years. Imagine yourself married to him, and having the same kind of relationship you've had the last 2 years. Is that something that makes you feel warm and fuzzy? Sure the sex may be good, the walks may be nice, he may be a great kisser or dancer or whatever...but in the long run you describe arguing "so much". There's a message here. Are you getting it?

The first mistake you made is move somewhere for a man without a real commiment very stupid thing to do. Now he is breaking up with you. YOu say he loves you I don't think so
if he did he would of made a commiment to you. Go back to Illinois and find a real man. Don't ever move for a man unless he asks for your hand in marriage. YOU ARE WORTH IT!
I've seen this happen so many times I have also seen friends move after they got engaged now those have worked out great. Be smart and let him go if he is really in love he will look for you and ask you to marry him.

When you give up too much for a guy he loses respect for you. Sounds like that is what has happened here. Go back home where you have friends and family, a support system. It is over so move on. You will get over him.
Why would you want to be a man who doesn't want to be with you? If you stay he will end up cheating and it will go downhill from there.

You can't. And if I were you I would not come back even if he "changes" his mind. He has been with you long enough to know what he wants. He probably wants a little free time to fool around.

If it really is love you work through the arguing! you need to start a dialog with him and share your feelings with him and tell him how you truly feel!
