I have an obnoxious male coworker. He is about eighteen, and I am twenty-one. I don't know why I let him get to me. But whenever I'm talking to another coworker, he always feels the need to say something to me and usually whatever he says is obnoxious. A few days ago, he said, "I hate looking at you face." I had said I hated something to another coworker and unwarranted he just answered with the previous statement. How should I deal with this annoying guy? It seems as if he may be trying to get my attention, as he constantly glances in my direction whenever we are near one another, but I really can't stand him because of his personality. What should I do?

Yeah, he's definitely trying to get your attention. Sounds like he may have a bit of a crush on you and he's trying to let you know in a very childish way (teasing you). If you can't stand his personality, then you are obviously (hopefully) not interested. If I were you, I would approach him and be completely up front and direct. Tell him that you know why he is always bugging you and that you take notice of him constantly glancing at you. This will catch him off guard, and maybe he'll be open and honest with you for once.

Sounds like he doesn't know what he wants or how to handle his emotions. Tell him that you don't believe in having relationships w/co-workers and tell him to please stop demonstrating his feelings toward you. If it continues talk to your boss or HR person. Sounds like he is creating a hostile work environment of which you have a right to be free of.
Do be careful of his feelings and keep notes, this guy could turn out to have real problems. don't become a statistic.

these would be my options if i were you:
1) keep ignoring him
2) when he tells u something annoying, right away tell him infront of everyone else that you know he has a crush on you that's why he is always trying so hard to be mean to you.
3) report him to a supervisor

slap the sh*t out of him. just kidding. Just absolutely ignore him. don't even look his way when he is talking, every minute of every day, just pretend he is not there. After all, he's only trying to get under your skin. And if he keeps looking at you, I highly doubt that you unattractive.

ignore him totally except where you must work with him --- he is immature and trying to get your attention --- unless you file a charge of harrassment against him or just tell him if he keeps this up you will report his behaviour to his supervisor --- you do have witnesses to his behaviour so it would not be a case of your word against his --- best wishes
