Congratulations on wanting to become a catholic! Be prepared to endure a lot of persecution. Study the faith so you can be ready to defend it. Especially on the topic of Mary, the Mother of God. I can undestand why people hate her so because satan hates her, and satan and his minions cohabitate this world with us all. He has everyone hating her. But back to your question, yes, you must be baptised. And don't say you won't go to heaven. If you are sorry for your sins and believe in God's forgiviness of sins and believe in his mercy, you will not perish in hell. No one deserves heaven. It is because of God's mercy that we have the opportunity to be with him after death...which is heaven itself. I admire your humility. I can see you being the first in the kingdom of heaven because your humility is so great. Also, after your baptism, you will need to make your sacraments, (first communion, confirmation etc.) Go to a parish priest and tell him you are interested and then you can start with taking CCD classes which are catholic cathecism classes. And pay no attention to that terrible comment above about jumping into the shower and say a few hail marys. Pray for that person. Satan is influencing him to say that to discourage you and make you feel hopeless.

You can follow any religion you want and consider yourself a part of the sect. However, major religions, such as the Catholic religion that you choose to follow right now require a formal period of education which culminates in a baptism. All 'true' christian religions follow a similar course of events to some extent or another.

Going to 'heaven' is an interpretation that is best left to a recognized theological authority. Catholic definitions are vastly different than the general christian world. If you have that strong of a desire to turn your life around and find some meaning in it - perhaps a bit more research would be necessary.

Several theological institutions prescribe a list of questions that one needs to answer to find their true religion. In the questions here, I have given an avenue of the questions I speak of:
1. Christ organized the church
2. The church must bear the name of Christ
3. The true church must have a foundation of apostles and prophets.
4. The church must have the same organization as Christ's original church.
5. The true church must claim divine authority.
6. The true church must have no paid ministry.
7. The true church must baptize by immersion.
8. The true church must bestow the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands.
9. The true church must practice divine healing.
10. The true church must teach that Jesus Christ and God are separate and distinct individuals.
11. The true chuch must teach that God and Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and bones.
12. The officers of the church must be called of God.
13. The true church must claim revelation from God.
14. The true church must be a missionary church.
15. The true church must be a restored church.
16. The true church must practice baptism for the dead.
17. By their fruits ye shall know them.
Answer these on your own. Of course maybe I am missing some questions, or am inaccurate on the recollection of something I garnered in a theology class many years ago.

Regardless of your past, there is very little that you could have done in your past that a loving God would not overlook in order to embrace you - like a wonderful parent would. Please look harder before you jump into something that condemns you to a life of guilt and shame. Learn from your mistakes, research religion, then live it.

Unless you did something really bad you will go to Heaven whether you are (Christian Roman Catholic) or non Christian such as Protestant, Jewish Moslem etc. Although God wants everyone to be Roman Catholic we have a loving God who wants everyone to join Him in Heaven. If you committed mrder and did not go to Catholic penace (confession) you probably are in danger of going to hl. If you are a terorist or believe in trsm you will go down there. If you are only a little bad you will go to a place called purgatory where you will not see God. But there is good news in the fact at some point you will get ot Heaven. If you fail to get baptized you might go to limbo. Before ending I got a question of my own. How can some people believe in Jesus and then say Jesus made a mistake in the Church He established?

The Catholic Church is not a house of saints. It is a hospital for sinners. If one was already a saint, he/she would have no use for the Church. That is why Jesus calls the sinners, not the righteous.

Who is righteous in the eyes of the Lord? No one, really. At Catholic Mass, before receiving Communion, the gathering recites, "Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the words and I shall be healed."

If you want to become a Catholic, you must receive the Sacrament of Baptism. If you believe you are unworthy of Heaven because of past sins, Baptism is right for you. When you receive Baptism, all your previous sins - all of them - are forgiven. You will undergo a rebirth; be re-born in the Spirit.

For what it's worth, in my opinion, you are closer to God than you think. You are humble enough to recognize your unworthiness. We're all unworthy. But that recognizition, is part of the process that will make us holy. With a contrite heart, and God's mercy, you can become worthy of being in the presence of God in Heaven.

It is a life-long journey that ends with the earthly death of our physical bodies. But that earthly death can also be another rebirth to an eternal life with God in Heaven.

Usually, when people develop an interest in God, they believe it is them reaching across the void that separates us from the Almighty. At Bible study, I learned it was just the opposite. As regular human beings, we do not have the capacity to reach across said void. Therefore, whenever we feel an impetus to do something for God, it's God reaching across that void to us. We're merely responding to it.

God is calling you to become a Catholic. Clearly you can sense His calling. It's entirely up to you whether or not you answer the call.

Baptism is the just a image of your new delivery in Christ. Whether you're taking sprinkled or emerged. Traditional Christians deliver sprinkled within the church to youngsters and adults. Lutherans will also use emerged Baptism if you're an grownup and are available from a non Christian again flooring. But recall that Baptism is the paintings of God in You. It isn't from any human act.

Baptism is a rite of purification. The washing out of your sins. or way to have remove your sins against God.That is why most religion baptized someone upon reaching the age of maturity, usually at the age of 18 years and above.

The doctrine of the Catholics in baptzing a newly born child or let us say a child is not advisable according to the bible.Because a child is still ignorant of a sin and he has not yet committed a sin.

Even Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist in river Jordan when he was still in the person of man because he had made himself to be equal with the man.He just made it as an example to man.

You can never be considered Christian by not having a baptism and you could not be considered to be Christian if you are not really or true follower of Jesus Christ. Christian came from the word Christ who is Jesus Himself. and if you do not follow the teachings of Jesus to be baptized, how can you be a follower.

No one of us could say whether he can go to Heaven or not. It is only God who could tell it when judgment comes. You can deserve to go to heaven when you have faith in God, believe and follow his teachings to be good man and of course do not allow yourself to be tempted by satan to follow the w rong path.

Pray to God for you to be saved and have life everlasting life in heaven. God bless.

well I know in many churches that baptism puts you on the "member roster" but you shouldn't be downhearted. The truth is out there. You've just got to keep searching until you find it. And I believe that as long as you work hard, anyone can make it to heaven. I could go on for hours about what I believe, but I am happy with my religion and you can be too.

It depends on which version or sect of christianity you are going for.

Some believe if you aren't baptised your going to burn in hell no matter what.

Others say your okay to worship if you haven't been baptised, but they won't let you partake of communion without a baptismal.

Still others couldn't give a toss about baptism and would welcome you with open arms as long as your willing to declare that you have accepted "Jesus Christ and God the Father into your heart and renounced evil. That you have accepted there is only one true god and that Jesus Christ was his only son sent to earth to die for your sins" yadda yadda yadda.

As long as your age is 18 years or older, and you begin attending a catholic church, you will be accepted and it will be assumed that you where baptised at another church. Just don't forget to put a little something in the collection plate or they might begin to suspect you.

Water baptism isn't a requirement for salvation. You become a Christian when you trust in Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.

You wont go to heaven? Now, I'll tell you confess your sins, just trust in Jesus and accept Him as your Personal Lord and Savior then you will go to heaven.
And if you have done this then be water baptized because Jesus is our example.

Read your bible and understand it so you will know what kind of faith you should be having. So you will know what are essential factors for salvation.

Know Jesus more not your religion. religion cannot save, good works cannot save. Only Jesus can save.
Be a born-again, that's what God requires us to be.

Baptism is symbolic of becoming a Catholic/Christian. In the Catholic religion you have 3 rituals baptism, Holy communion where you accept the body and blood of Christ in wine and bread and confirmation. The other of course is marriage.
Only God knows if you are going to Heaven and Hell.
Repenting and forgiving your sins and "forgive us our trespasses has we forgive the trespasses of others". Our Father the Lord's pray. Pray to God the father and Jesus his son. God Bless
