Intelligent design claims that there was an intelligent creator. But why does the creator have to be "god". What if the intelligent designer were an alien race that had a 1 billion year head start on us. What if there were many designers? What I fing interesting is the only ID "theory" being pushed in this country is the one were the ID is the christian god.

I never said that i believe aliens made us, i said that the intelligent designer doesn't have to be a god. Nice way of avoiding the question(you know who ya'll are)

really?
what I find humorous, is that when visiting th 'atheist' homepage, the claims against Christians, myopically focused on the narrowminded and incorrect assuptions of the fundamentalists, (you know, the fools that hold to the creative day being a literal 24 hour time period). While completely ignoring those of Christian belief who understand that the defintion of the word day can be figurative up to the meaning of an indeterminate time period. This type of crass misrepresentation by the atheist webmasters, is tantamount to the ignorance of which they rail against.
I say we attack ignorance no matter which camp it comes from.
Then, just maybe, we will begin to get to the truth!

Technically speaking intelligent design does not identify the designer as the Christian's God though many have held to that belief. ID simply states that our natural world exhibits evidence of design and not mindless random chance evolution. Even if you posit an alien creator or even a multitude of desigers, you simply push the issue to another part of the universe. The existence of aliens also begs to be explained. But then again, by considering aliens as the intelligence behind the world we live in, you are already admitting to ID as the better explanation.

the majority religious people in this country are Christian. One would expect a Intelligent design advocated by Christians. I certainly wouldn't expect to go to a Iran and find a Intelligent design claim advocated by a Christian.
I would though hope those knocking against the argument of Intelligent design at least come up with a Intelligent question instead of Ad hominem argumentation.

Well, at the moment, ID formally does not specify the Christian God. If ID were allowed into schools the courts, the "experts" would suddenly start finding evidence that it was the Christian God. Of course this is moot.
In the interim, the "Christian" Creationists will use ID, in a futile attempt to promote their lies. You rightly put "theory" in quotes, as a theory is supported by evidence, and not evidence in support of ID has ever been produced.

For Christians, that is what we believe. I understand your feelings. Might there be another race of beings out there in the universe who traveled to this planet to populate it? Might there be a chance that lightning excited a pool of chemicals to a point where they evolved to a higher life form.
Many people call intelligent design "retar... ." But there is just as much proof for intelligent design as there are for other avenues of belief. To me, the probability of intelligent design has better odds than alien races or lightning-induced evolution.
But in the end, it comes down to which one accurately accounts for what is tangibly here? The only one with enough evidence (to me) is that of intelligent design.

hey arm. I say this with all due respect . Your question sounds like you are back-peddling before you even got an answer. I concede it may even be a good point but it comes off as though you are in retreat. I am not used to that out of you. And that id business, you must agree Satan is too intelligent to implement a system that everybody is already aware of right? You can not buy or sell is aimed at nations, not individuals.

The intelligent designers were almost certainly aliens. That solves all the problems of evolution, the origin of the first DNA, and also the problem of why animals are in some ways unimaginably complex in design, and in other ways completely dumb. And also, the fossil records clearly show that evolution happens suddenly, not gradually. One moment a species doesn’t exist, next moment it exists. Evolutionists?

There is only one Intelligent designer, but unfathonable number of Intelligent designs.
But unlike all other manmade designs, God can design and create humans who can live eternally, the difference is Eternal Existence to all who conforms to his Plans for Salvation - by Faith.
Faith is not something mecahnical, it is Spiritual, and that too is the only designable by The God who is a Spirit - (The Holy Spirit).

Because you naturally have to go to the beginning. Who created the aliens? They couldn't have just popped up. It all leads to a Creator God.
