Why is South Africa's location benefitial to the country?

I am researching South Africa for a school project and am trying to find out what the benefits of its location at the tip of Africa are. If you have any answers I would be extremely grateful.

It sits on a bunch of high priced mineral deposits. It also gets plenty of rain, the tip of Africa gives it strategic access to go to both the Asian and European markets.
