After world war 2 ended the us and soviet union devided up the world. One of the divisons happened right through the center of korea. The soviets taking control of north korea and us supporting the democratic government of south korea. Well the north decided that there should only be one korea and invaded the south. They darn well almost won it all right from the get go taking the south down to a small area around the city of pusong (known as the pusong perimiter), but UN forces led by Douglass McCarther led a massive reversal and almost conquored the north. As the UN forces were aproching the edge of north korea which bordered china the chinese joined the war on the side of the north. then the two sides battled it out and finaly setted the border at the 38th paralel where it had been at the start although offically the war never ended only a sease fire was ever signed. which is why troops stationed in korea today still recive combat pay and bonuses.

Near the end of WW II, the US and the Soviet Union forced Japan out of Korea. Korea had previously been under Japanese occupation. The two powers basically divided Korea into two separate countries, each somewhat under the influence of its conqueror.

Each of the halves of Korea wanted to exert control over the other half towards a goal of reunification. There were attacks along the border. In 1950, the North Koreans crossed the 38th parallel. Foreign powers intervened to prevent the collapse of the South Korean government. Communist countries intervened on the side of the North Koreans.

The North Koreans invaded South Korea. They were doing very well infact in the initial stages of the war. They pushed the South Koreans, the US forces, and the UN task force in South Korea into an area that became known as the "Pusan Perimeter."

Gen. Douglas MacAurthur USA was in command of the UN mission in S.Korea.
He came up with a plan to use US Marines to cut off the North Koreans from their supply lines, and lines of communication.
The US Marines landed at Inchon, and managed to cut the North Koreans off from their supply lines, they retook the capitol after 2 days and sealed off those North Koreans who were South of the 38th parallel.
It was only after the US Marine Landing at Inchon that allied forces managed to break out of Pusan and drive back to the 38th parallel.

It would be ideal to ask WHO started rather than WHAT started the Korean, Vietnamese, Afghanistan, Iraqi and many other similar conflicts? The answer is obvious!

In 1949 Korea divided againest itself, Ho chi Men was giving a speech saying China could add India, Burma, Indonesia, the Philippians all these other continents to it's population of communists, in essence to take over the world,(Doesn't it sound like today? All the Muslim nations banding together in an all out plot?) (Some things never change!!) the CIA says in 1950 that North Korea will attack, but Stalin and Ho Chi men want Mao to join them, word gets to Mc Arthur who does not believe there will be a shooting war and Kim Sung President of N.K. trying to get Mao to go attack S.K Truman hears of this and orders invasion by our Navy.Something like "weapons of mass destruction!" Oh well--- had to be done, they are just looking for a way to get a foothold! Same ol'e story, so get them before they get you!!

NORTH KOREA INVADING SOUTH KOREA ....WE SIDED WITH THE SOUTH KOREANS THE CHINESE WITH THE NORTH KOREANS ...WE DROVE THEM BACK NORTH OF THE YALOO RIVER.... MAC ARTHUR WANTED TO KEEP GOING AND FLATTEN CHINA .. TRUMAN STOPPED HIM AND HAD HIM REPLACED ... THIS WILL TURN OUT TO BE A HUGE MISTAKE BECAUSE THE CHINESE ARE BECOMING A DOMINANT COMMUNIST POWER AND ARE ABOUT TO REALLY UPSET THE WORLD ORDER OF THINGS BY DOMINATING THE REST OF THE WORLD IN NEGATIVE WAYS...
