Worst case scenario is that a stone drops into your common bile duct, resulting in serious infection that can lead to death. I had a stone block my CBD and came within a few inches of death.

Have the surgery. It's quick, simple, and no more pain.

Worst case scenario is that you drag your feet before having it done, it bursts, spreads infection all through your body and you die.
Is that what you're looking forward to?
They do this laporoscopically now, I had the whole body open surgery, and it was a heck of a lot better than that scenario.

I also had a stone blocking my common bile duct which lead to pancreatitis. I was in the hospital for 2 days on a crappy bland diet. I had to be on a bland diet until my surgery 8 days later (Thanksgiving week) I was really sick. I didn't almost die like the other person who answered you, but I know of people who came very close to it. Just have the surgery, you will feel better soon!

Gallbladder explodes...you die.
There are meds that disolve the
stones.They can also burst the
stones with sound waves.(Lithotripsy)
Only thing left is surgery.
Had mine out, it's no fun.
