No, sadly you are not. There are a lot of people who are not aware that The Pledge of Allegiance did not start out with "Under God" in it, or that US currency did not start out with "In God We Trust" imprinted on it.

I think it's ridiculous that so many Americans are so ignorant of their own history.

While many of our founding fathers were men of faith, they knew that the only way this new country would be able to achieve it's full potential was if every man was equal under the law, no matter his religion.

It's a pity that over the centuries that followed, a particular religious dogma managed to insinuate itself into the government, like some biblical serpent tempting with fruit that should not have been eaten.

Depends. What is your opinion about those who rallied to get "under God" added to the Pledge in the 1950s, since that's not how it was originally written?

Or didn't you realize that it was a modification made during the years of the Cold War, spearheaded by the Knights of Columbus, and passed by Congress in order to differentiate the Holy United States from Dem Godless Commies?

No you arent the only one who thinks that way . We have all kinds of nut cases that want to keep down progress and preserve hate and intolerance and do it in the name of a god. What better way to get people to follow the herd then to bombard them with god everywhere they look. It's just sad that we have people that need a god to make them happy when they have that ability within themselves. Im shure that you think that it's rediculous that anyone would not believe in a god but "sorry" there are Many people that have rational minds and are not taken in with that lie and do not want their children to be subjected to that closed minded ,parinoid way of thinking. Why not say " In Pan we trust" on our money? we can no more prove that he exists than we can a god. Or how about "In Elvis we trust" at least we know he existed and noone can argue the fact that he did, which is more than we can say about god. Elvis never told anyone he was going to send them to hell if they don't believe in him. It would be a good idea to not print anything on our money that we dont know to be truth lest it make us seem like a bunch of idiots. I for one am glad that I am not a christian my Mom raised a smarter person than that. A happy one too.

No, there are other fanatics out there. They agree with you in forcing nonbelievers into their religion. I'm not sure why you want to defy separation of church and state. After all, it protects your religion too.

Would you want your currency to read, "For Satan we Live"?

How about if your children were taught to say every day, "I pledge allegiance to this country, with the many arms of Ganesha guiding my life"?

Ideally, government-sponsored activities should be religiously neutral. "Under God" and "In God We Trust" are decidedly not neutral. It's a small matter to remove those.

I prefer the original Pledge of Allegiance, anyway.

In the last two days I have heard (on T.V. and the Web too) of TWO really big prayer and fasting (3 days) get togethers of people all over America.
This is agonna get GOD back into some things in America.

If My people which are called by My Name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My Face, and turn from their WICKED ways, then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin, and will HEAL their LAND.

Only the Children of GOD have to do this to get the Land Healed.
Also, 7 is GOD's number and 14 is the Number of Deliverance.
This scripture is found in 2 Chronicles 7:14

I thought one of the biggest deals of the first settlers of this country was freedom from religious persecution.

freedom from religion is the same as freedom of religion. And furthermore this is the United States of America... not the Christian States of America.

I understand what your saying but sometimes Christians forget that Jesus said "My kingdom is not of this world" Guess what I am saying is that when all is said and done, what difference does that really make?
