Saline Locks provide an effective and more cost efficient alternative to conventional use of IV Tubing and IV solution infusion through IV catheters. Easy accessibility and more comfortable to the patient not being hooked on IV solution just to keep the vein patent.

1. allows better patient mobility (not "tethered" by IV tubing)
2. easier to maintain (no pumps to malfunction- just flush the port every shift)
