No, not unless proper patrolling is conducted. That is a must.
Now, I am all for immigrants for coming into the country simply because this country was built on immigrants.
Jobs we are no longer willing to do, can be taken up by these immigrants.
Having said that, not all the immigrants are willing to work hard and are law abiding. They may be criminals.
So the proper procedure is to apply for citizenship.
We've got to screened them carefully.
Now these illegals aliens are not going to listen to all the mumbo jumbo talk.
They don't speak English to begin with.
They also do not have the educational level able and willing to tackle the issues.
They just want to escape their live back home (well, much like the forefathers of American did a few centuries back).
They are not going to care about the wall and the guards.
They are going to risk it.
So, build a wall, a fence or whatever.
You have to have guards.
I don't mean shoot on sight.
They need to captured and deported.
But immigration procedure needs to be more comprehensive.
Remember, it's not the Mexicans who are coming in illegally.
A lot of illegal immigrants are from Europe, China and Vietnam.
I just saw this documentary focusing on illegal aliens from Ireland.
Who would have thought?

Sure if it's over fifteen feet tall and made out of concrete, with guard towers posted every 200 yards. Honestly though, I could really care less about the mexican horde coming across the border every day. At least the population is holding steady, unlike many european nations.

No it wouldn't. The only way it would is if it was the Berlin wall. That really kept people on their sides. I don't think this great country of ours would resort to killing people to make statements. I could not see the government or people get that maniacal about change. Therefor, if you do put up a wall, people would still find a way to cross it. It would not make much difference.

No, but guard towers with American armed guards would. They can shoot at will, or Pedro. The problem is corporate American greed. The rich just love them Mexicans coming over here. The middle class American should be put in a museum, because he's been shoved out of his way of life.

First you must understand, it is a fence, not a wall. As for making a difference, all you have to do, is go south of San Diego, and see for yourself. The fence down there is working very very well. Also ask yourself, if a fence would not work, would Mexico be as mad about it as they are.

Not sure, but "The Great Electrically Charged Constantine Wire, Land Mine Field From Coast To Coast, Citizens Allowed To Shoot On Sight If Video Recorded And Person No Habla Engles" might. And darn it, even that is still questionable on effectiveness.

It's just another government sham - a way to waste billions of taxpayers' dollars and make it look like something is really being accomplished, when - in fact - the government continues its arrogant, incompetent, insipid ways without regard for the public trust or the public treasury. -RKO-

I'm 6 feet tall and can probably take about three border patrols to the ground and climb that wall myself. they both are a joke. a wall isn't going to do. A thousand volt electric fence might, bigger fines for employers that hire illegals, no welfare for illegals, no citizenship for children born to illegals in the US, and immediate deportation for all illegals and their illegal children.

hell no the INS is making too much money by looking the other way. and if they did build the so called bean repellent, they would really put more effort into the tunnels that the INS say "aren't really a threat"
