You should not eat any thing right before a race.Being an ex motocross racer you best thing to do is eat lots of pasta with out so much sauce the night before you race this is a well known practice that will keep you in the top 5#.

It's not a terrible choice, but not the best. Watch the portion!
Before a race, I'd try having something with protein and a piece of fruit. That will help to keep your body moving.
Good luck on the race!âº

no not really but its not horrible if you eat a little. they will be great for a race but eat them an hour or two before so you get those carbs into your system and digested. but like 10, 20 minutes before serve no purpose you want to stay away from that.
and gatorade is a horrible choice for before a race. there is way to much sugars in gatorade and it will make you sick or slow you down. even too much water is bad but you want to get alittle in befor you run just small sips at a time big gulps and you'll cramp up.

yes its good to eat CARBS before a race, or event
i used to be on a swim team and the DAY before a swim race we'd have a pasta party. i dont know about RIGHT before a race, because you may get cramps/sick
drink alot of WATER too, or gatorade, is good during races.
also, multi grain is better for your body.
