I have long blonde hair that tends to be very dry and sometimes frizzy. I have tried every conditioner on the market (plus John Frieda and Pantene cremes and serums) and nothing seems to add any moisture. Does anyone have a recommendation for something to turn thick dry hair into
smooth moisterized locks? Thanks!

Ok, one thing I haven't tried is "leave in conditioner." Has anyone had any success with those?? How do they work?

I have long, highlighted blonde hair that gets really dry & sometimes frizzy, too (except mine's thin). It mostly just gets dry at the ends and I used to have incredible troubles with split ends, but then I started using the Pantene Restoratives conditioner (there's three kinds, the anti-frizz seems like it might do it for you). I also use a spray-on leave in conditioner (Pantene Restoratives anti-breakage) and I put regular conditioner on the ends of my hair right before I get out of the shower (don't rinse it out). Now my hair looks really healthy, my stylist comments on it everytime I go in! You might not have to do all that, though, if you don't use heat styling (I use a blow-dryer and straightener every day).
When choosing a conditioner, it should be very thick; you should be able to put it in the palm of your hand and turn your hand upside down without it running out. If you don't get a thick conditioner, you should just use a lot of non-thick conditioner (shampoo, rinse, condition, rinse, and condition & rinse a final time in the shower and see how that works).
Also, every couple of weeks I rinse my hair and put a deep conditioning mask in (the pink Sunsilk one is good, as is the Pantene Restoratives time renewal one) and then put it up in a towel WITHOUT rinsing any of the conditioner out. Blow-dry your hair (it will feel kind of greasy), then take a shower and shampoo & condition as usual.

Professional products do make a difference. You do pay more but it is worth it. The results are amazing. Hair is mainly made up of protien, how is your diet?Drink a lot of water? Do you chemically treat your hair? Do you use blow dryers or curling irons? If yes you should be using a thermal protectant to provide a barrier between your hair and the source of heat. Do you rinse with cool water to close the cuticle down? Do you towel dry your hair and rough up the cuticle? When was your last trim, split ends don't heal they really need to be trimmed regularly.Deep conditioners that are left in work wonders.Try putting the professional conditioner in damp hair not saturated with water this will allow the product in less diluted.Look for products that contain both moisture and protien. Moisture in the conditioning formula helps with elasticity. For frizz try treatments you apply when the hair is dry, formulas that repel excess humidity and boost shine.I have had great results with Aveda products.Earth friendly and highly professional and effective. It is worth the investment if you want to achieve your results.

Use Redken So Soft Shampoo and conditioner or Joico products....both found in salon. Try using Biosilk serum. It works wonderfully.

nexxus humectress works really well. this is coming from a girl who relaxes her hair and had highlights. u may have to move to salon-brand products, if thats what it takes. humectress runs about 14 bucks and u can get it now at target and walmart.
