If it really bothers you that much, don't do it, but otherwise, a name's a name! Don't let somebody's name get you upset.

Why not? If you allow the name to stop you then you are giving your despised ex way too much power and control over you r happiness.

You meet someone else and get real comfortable with them. No secrets....she knows all about your ex (and probably thrown out anything she might have touched. lol)

Then you make the most terrible of mistakes....You call her by the name of your ex. It doesn't pay to make that mistake too often. Ive had it done to me and I have to confess it doesn't give a comfortable feeling.

Same name will save you that embarrassment..but of course you may also get the question 'When you call my name, who do you think of?'

Sorry people, but we are all a bit paranoid.

I dont see why yuo would not date this person just because of his name. They may share the name, but not personalities. If you are asking just in general, dont go by the names and if you are asking cause you are interested in someone witht he same name, go for it. This person may have you looking at things differently.

My (now ex) husband married two women with the same first name (I was the second one, and when we married, he really despised the first one.)

Now he despises us both!

Yes- it might be hard at first to get away from the emotional ties that name has with your ex- but you have to remember that it is just a name, and those emotions we'll eventually fade away.

Yes I would. However I would most likely give him a cute nickname so I wouldn't have to be reminded about the ex everyday.

I would date them because you cant just not date someone just because of their name. I mean its not their parents fault they named their kid after your ex. A name is just a name It means nothing.

I would but the person would have to really be someone special. There's no way I'd date someone with my father's name though.

It would be weird, but I would do it, it would be unfair to the person I will date just because he shared the same name of @$$
