God's Word transforms lives - I see it daily in my work at Teen Challenge. Addiction is broken, attitudes renewed, individuals restored, families restored, parents have their children back, children have their mums back - and it's the power of God's Word that bring about these changes - and more! -

I know the power of words in general, and for that matter thought...but both come from humans. I have never heard God speak.

No not really. I find the bible to be a superb collection of mythology with some decent spiritual instruction thrown in for good measure. There’s really nothing amazing about it and the poetry of the Koran is far superior. If god wrote a book it would knock your socks off. Nope, didn’t happen.

I wonder whether you have thought about the notion that will all the translations and the like, God's word has changed so frequently that it's hardly the same as it once was.

The true "power" of God's word is the COVENANT: those that truly accept salvation of their eternal soul thru His Son, Jesus shall have everlasting life.
THAT is powerful.
