ANYONE can be knocked out, Floyd is in great shape and is considered to be pound for pound the best fighter right now. I think in order for him to be knocked out it would have to be a very good "technical" fighter. And when it comes to technical fighters Oscar is the best. I'm not an Oscar fan whatsoever, but i think oscar will give Floyd a hard time, I believe Floyd will knock out oscar in the 4th - 6th round.

There's nothing wrong with Floyd's chin!!!!
Yeah, Corley is not known for his powerpunching but "stunned" Floyd, but it can happen to any fighter. Corley hit Floyd with a good punch that he never saw coming. It's the punches you don't see coming that in general do the most damage, and that punch doesn't even have to be all that hard. Floyd recovered quickly though. Even though his defense is almost perfect Floyd has still been hit with hard punches every now and then and nothing happened....so I'd say his chin is fine.
To say that Floyd can't take a punch because he's been "stunned" ONCE in 11 years as a pro is like saying that Oscar can't take punches to the body because Hopkins KO'd him with a not so hard bodypunch. A Perfect punch right on the spot can end a fight "just like that" and that's the beauty of boxing.
Floyd doesn't like to get hit, because that's what boxing is all about.."Hit and not get hit" and he's doing a great job. That's why he calls himself "The pretty boy". When the fight is over you can't see that he has been in a fight.
Oscar is the naturally bigger man in the ring though, he has good power and is also a very skilled boxer. "IF" Oscar is able to wear him down and connect with good clean punches right on the chin, then of course he has a chance to hurt and KO Floyd. I don't think that will happen though.
Floyd wins by UD.

The question with PBF (pretty boy floyd) is whether he can really take a few punches. He has never been put up to the test in his career where he would be in a real dogfight with an opponent. They fact is he is as natural to boxing as a fish is to water. I dont like him whatsoever but I respect him enough to know he is a hell of a boxer. A lot of people only believe that he has speed, but we saw when he fought arturo gatti that wasnt just the case, as he left gatti pretty beat up with some viscious shots a little over halfway through the fight before they stopped it. I know, I know, gatti swells in every fight, but still. With him coming to fight oscar on may 5th i almost cringe to think i will be in iraq and miss it on ppv. I believe truely that if anyone is going to be able to give floyd a run for his money its going to be oscar. My only wish is that he would have been 10 years younger in this fight against him, back in his prime. A major advantage for oscar is that he is pretty fast, and because his punches (espcially his left hook) arent telegraphed at all, he might be one of the very few fighters who lay a good solid combo on floyd instead of just a pop shot at a time. Its gonna be an interesting fight. Look for them to feel each other out the first couple rounds, and hopefully oscar lacing him with a quick combo somewhere after taking some punishment to do so. From there it might turn out to be a very close call on the scorecards. I will say this though. Floyd hasnt had much of a challenge, not because he is ducking opponents, but because there are simply too few people out there to match his skills. This fight should put solidify him as a pound for pound great if he pulls it off without any trouble.

You answered your own question brilliantly. I'm serious your argument has been my argument since and even before the fight with De La Hoya was even made. Floyd uses the same exact style his Uncle Roger and his father did. The old tuck and roll. Turn your left shoulder to the right and bury your head into your left shoulder keeping the majority of weight on their back foot. Julio Cesar Chavez showed the world how to beat this style when he stopped Roger in two rounds.
Floyd Jr's fight with Corley is a perfect example of Floyd's chin being suspect. There's a better fight out there to watch though, one that shows Floyd really can't take a punch. That Floyd doesn't like getting hit. That Floyd panics when aggressive pressure is applied. And that is Floyd's fight against Jose Luis Castillo, their first fight. Jose Luis got the screws put to him by the judges even though it was so obvious he was hurt often and lost badly.
Floyd can and will be knocked out if he stays in the pocket too long. If he doesn't use his speed. If he stands there and trades with Oscar his head will end up somewhere in the third row of the MGM Grand.
I'm frustrated and sickend about Oscars recent comments that "People are going to be surprised how I can match his speed" This is evidence that Oscar will let his ego get the best of him and fight a fight he can not win. There have rumors abound the past six years or so that Oscar is untrainable now. That Oscar is Oscars biggest fan. This is why he's been through so many trainers.
If Oscar fights Floyds fight instead of taking it the streets ( a place Oscar never liked to go) Floyd will beat Oscar soundly possibly stopping him in the later rounds. If Oscar beats Floyd like the convicted woman beater he is and punishes him for his arrogance and land the Left hook each and every time it is open to throw Oscar will knock the bajeebies out of Floyd.
Thanks for the question Insane Unknown.

Oscar is not a serious puncher folks. He has a good left hook but unless you come in face first like Ricardo Mayorga, it usually takes many rounds before he gets the KO. He does not blow people away like many of you want to believe. Floyd is simply too good a boxer to leave himself exposed. And dont even compare Floyd Jr. to Sr. or his uncle Roger. They dont come close to Jr's talent level. Floyd Jr. is obssessed with going down in history as the best ever and that is why he trains so hard and has mastered boxing and has built his reflexes and defensive skills to where they are today. Oscar can make all the claims he wants and even believe it himself but the fact remains that even 10 years ago, he struggled with an older Pernell Whitaker. You think 10 years later and older he will be able to beat a prime Pretty Boy? Please people, dont bet on Oscar. You will be sorry. I get the feeling this fight will get ugly before its over and maybe, just maybe, some of you will begin to give Lil Floyd his props. It's over before the end of ten. You read it here first. Peace.

Your right, and Floyd is going up against a bigger man with serious KO power. Oscar is far and away the toughest fight of Floyd's career. It wouldn't suprise me in the least if Oscar exposes Floyd with a hard left hook early in the fight. The very real possibility exists that Mayweather will lose to DeLa Hoya, and either way it will be a brutal fight for both of them.

He can knock Floyd out. No doubt about it. Floyd has never been in with a fighter who can hit as hard as Oscar, but even more is the fact that Oscar has the speed to get to Floyd's chin. I agree with you, Floyd was badly hurt against Corley and Corley isn't even known to be a puncher. While Oscar is no George Foreman, he has pretty good power and he can hurt you if he hits you right, especially with the left hook/uppercut. And as my man Mikey above pointed out, Roy Jones got knocked out by Tarver in fight 2 when we all thought it was impossible for him to get KO'd. Jones was just like Floyd, very fast, good defensively, and very hard to nail cleanly, but when Tarver caught him, BOOM! Down he went and it just shows you that anybody can go when they're hit right. Even Floyd Jr. But i do agree with my man Santana, if Oscar tries to show that he can box with Floyd just to prove something, he can kiss his title good bye!

well the facts are that as a professional mayweather has been knocked down once, and it was because he hurt his hand so badly he dragged it to the canvas. so there is no basis for your assumption that he has no chin. it is possible for Oscar to KO him, and that's how he is going to have to win. He wont, and Floyd will in a UD.

Ok, you probably like DeLaHoya as much as I do---he's a real class act all around.
Mayweather has never been beaten. Oscar has been knocked out, what twice? three times? Oscar has never been a real power-puncher.
Yeah, anyone can be knocked out. but this is probably not the fight where it'll happen to Mayweather.
sure hope I'm wrong, though...
