There were several different authors. They are usually associated with David (73) Asaph (12) and eleven to the sons of Korah. Psalm 90 to Moses; 34 are "orphan psalms," without any title.

According to tradition, David wrote the Psalms. But according to historians, all of the Psalms are of a much latter date. Many were probably written during the Babylonian captivity.

The Talmud (Bava Basra 14b) mentions ten people, in addition to David, who authored Psalms: Adam, Melchizedek, Abraham, Moses, Heiman, Yedusun, Asaf, and the three sons of Korach.

alot are attributed to David, but not all.
Moses wrote some of the very early ones. I think Solomon may have written a few. Some have no author.
