It depends on how much weight you have to lose. A person who is very overweight may find the weight dropping off very quick. A person who is only slightly overweight may have to work out much harder.

Also, different workouts factor in here. You need to be sweating, and often trainers say you have to do cardio for 20 min before you begin to burn fat. Something like yoga maintains and adds toning but you wont see results like weight loss.

You don't start burning fat until after your stomach tells you its hungry.
And of course, the number of calories eatten has to be LESS than the number of calories burned in a workout in order to lose weight.

Many people find themselves eatting more when they work out and in that case, you will not see results.

Give it at least 4 weeks.
