I want to go on a date with this guy, but neither of us have our DL, (I wont get mine in another four months) and I don't want to have our parents driving us around...I think that's just awkward. Any ideas?

Yes. Wait until you're 18 to start dating.

Hi Kathryn, I remember how exciting it was to be your age and I wanted to do everything--right away--could not wait for stuff to happen----well as you get older you will realize that you just can't hurry things along and sometimes things aren't as exciting as you think they will be. Dates now are just as exciting--because your hormones are running wild---just discovering boys and having all the fun you always heard about. Well you have to realize that waiting is your only option--or get a ride from a parent--why would that be awkward?? Are you embarrassed of your own family?? That's disrespectful--they did raise you all these years--and would probably give you a ride and an opportunity to date. It is only a ride--not going to embarrass you. Even when you get a license you will probably be without wheels or you live in a state where you can't have unrelated kids in the car because you are an inexperienced driver. So a license is not going to be the solution right away. How do other kids without a license date?? They get a bus, walk, bike, or just wait. I am sure that you can figure this out on your own---and neither of you will disappear off the face of the earth because you can't date at this particular time. Slow down, relax, take all this young love stuff easy, ----learn that mature people wait and do things the proper way when the time is right. Worry about school---hey, how do you get to school, anyway?? Can't you two do school stuff together for a while?? Anyway, take care and good luck--oh--smile !!

Have dates at home. Usually one parent is more lenient than the other, so figure out which one doesn't care about things that are important to you. For example, my boyfriends mom doesn't care if we lay on the bed to watch tv, shut the living room door, or kiss. My parents, however, are super strict and we learned not to stay there when we wanted to be together. Hope that helps!

there's nothing wrong having your parents dropping you off and picking you up. Or else take a taxi, double date with some friends, take a walk in the local park. Just as long you both will be safe. there's some real weirdos out there. have fun!

A walk to/through the park on a nice day, and asking your parents for a ride to the mall or the movie theater and just meeting eachother there until you can get your license.

Try doubling with some friends that do have a license. My boyfriends and I always doubled with my sister and her boyfriend. It was fun. We were pretty close and we minded our own business. And it was better than parents driving us around. If no older brother or sister, try a older cousin.

There is nothing wrong with having your parents or his pick you up and drop you off, they will know that you guys are safe getting there and back, besides is less money and responsibility for you guys!
