"Money is the root of all evil." Lots of people misquote 1 Timothy 6:10 when they say this. The actual scripture says it's the LOVE of money, not money itself.

1 Timothy 6:10
"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

Of course you mean ". . . From the Bible" because if it was in the Bible - it wouldn't or couldn't be misquoted.

From what I've heard - even in many sermons.

The truth shall set you free.

It's a misquote from . . .

Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

It's the most misquoted verse I've ever heard.

This is not a misquote of the Bible, but it really grates on my
nerves and angers me just the same. Whenever someone
dies, (usually a family member says) Well, it was God's will.
What a lie from the pit of hell. God does not will anyone to die
at any time. God wills they have a long and healthy life and
die at a ripe old age. Then why did they die? Well, just
living in this world will kill you!

I don't think there is one. But i know a lot of people use verses in the bible to misguide other people. They take the verse and take it out of the context. The false teachers use it to deceive people, this is the reason it is imperative that we read the bible and study the word of god

edit for last ent: nice to see you here last ent. wouldn't be the same without your inputs

i would have to say the part about moses parting the Red Sea. If you look at the oldest known bible it says that moses parted the Sea of Reeds which was later renamed the Reed Sea, witch is some 200 miles from the Red Sea.

Misquoted or misinterpreted?

I mean, people quote the Bible all the time, but they pull it ourt of context to suit their own needs

God helps people who help themselves. Found NO WHERE in the Bible, or

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Found in the Koran, not the Bible.
