Why do people have to be so rude on yahoo answers and youtube? Are that many people scared behind their little computers that half the time they can't comment to someone's face? It's so childish.

I think those people, and I use the term lightly, are just really miserable people. If they had to face you in person they would probably be as meek as a geek. They are nothing except on paper.Laugh at them.

There are rude people anywhere in life, online or offline. Online you'll find more of them, because they can be anonymous, so people who'd never dare say such stuff in person feel all strong and cool about typing it in.

However annoying they may be to you, the best advise is to either ignore them or to quietly hit the little 'report' flag if they're really bad. Please don't post these kind of questions about them; this only gives them attention. Online 'flamers', just like bullies in school, do this just to get a rise out of people. If everyone ignores them, the 'joke' falls flat and they'll get bored. But when people respond to them and show they're annoyed, that's exactly what they want! I'm sure you made some of them whoop and cheer, "whee, we got another one to post about us, yeah!" If only everyone would stop paying attention to them, they'd quickly get bored and find something else to do....

Proximity is always a factor in politics, no fear is felt when one is safe within the castles keep, only when the possibility of having ones head handed to them for their insolence is a real possibility are the dogs brought to heel. Such as it ever was and most certainly such as it ever will be.

You are right, it is childish. However, many people are affected by the media, they see and hear rude behavior and language in music and movies and TV. WHEN did the "f word" become an everyday modifyer "f**kin' dumb thing to do", "f**kin' beautiful woman". My grandmother used to say about rude people, "they have no home training", meaning there is no one at home who loves them or cares about them enough to train them in good manners. Good manners are really all about treating your fellow man with respect and putting them at ease, or at least not creating discomfort for them with action or deed. The people whose only means to express themselves is with hate and rudeness are just sad and angry and probably WAY undereducated. It makes them feel empowered to swagger and offend anonymously on the internet.

The internet makes small people feel powerful. Cowards will snipe long distance (either on the phone or on the web) when they normally wouldn't have the balls to do it to your face.

Ignore them...or learn to snipe back.

I think that insulting people they don't know and will never know is some sort of sick entertainment to them.

First of all, I would like to say....WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THIS YOU MOTHERLESS DOG? HOW IDIOTIC ARE YOU......??!!!

...kidding, obviously. But, uh, I think you answered your own question-the cyber world is a virtually no-consequence world of interchange between people.
