im a 16 year old female and my boyfriend is 20.
I just know that there are many people that judge right away because of our age difference. they also assume that he is just in the relationship for some goodies (but thats not the case). we are truly in love and have been dating for 6 months.
So, i just wanted peoples' opinions to see what people really do think of this.
This isn't going to change the way i feel about him. I just wanted some peoples' point of view!

ok, also my boyfriend helps me get my schoolwork done, because he knows it's important. And my parents and him get along fine....well, thery're a little nervous. But they like him!

if you love this guy, then age should be no barrier for the two of you. besides if the 2 of you really love each other, then other people's opinion of your relationship should not be an issue.

well my parents are like 7 years apart. so not a big problem. However at 16 you should focus on education. However i thinck you need to looke out. This young u might feel love but hes 20. hormones are busting, take some time to look at other fish in the sea. ( date someone coler to ur age) no offense

i was young once too and just a word of advice dont be in a big hurry and if you are sexually involved always practice safe sex.i loved deeply also at 16 but chances are it will not last the age is not a big deal to me you can just as easily get pregnant or a std from a 13 year old be careful stay in school and dont look for your happiness from someone else.be able to take care of your self stay in school it is important.good luck.

Well, you love him and if you think your love is true and you are happy with him, then dont bother what people say about the age difference or things like that. But you must concentrate on ur school and not just be carried away with your love. Age difference never matters, love must be true....

OMG. Girlie, why are ya even askin if ya dont care? Mais if you want my opinion i'll give it to you. 4 yrs, nothing to fuss over. (I know married couples 10 to 14 yrs apart) so dont worry about. if you're in love, then that's great. happy for the two of you.

Well you are opening up to a lot of criticism.
The fact is that it is illegal for the two of you to have sex. but the law has never stopped me before.
Are you happy with him?
If your answer is yes then I, personally, say you are doing the right thing.

i think you both should be careful --- if someone decides to make trouble for you it could be very nasty --- if you are happy then the age difference does make no difference --- its people and the law that could cause problems --- best wishes to you both

to start with, it's infatuation and not love. you are still a minor, and he is not. those two factors are enough to rob your selves fron clear thinking.
You are going to dodge your parents on this, because you deep inside, their advices and rules are going to conflict
