i am not religious, but i am quite spiritual. many folks claiming the same will reject any notion that has christian connotations, SIMPLY because of a christian attatchment, while excepting some eastern religious ideologies. why is this? barbarism and bigotry can be found in ANY religion if one is looking for that. so why is christianity so demonized simply for its title (content of religion is very offen the same)?

I'm with you! I think it's very important for us to accept and respect all religions. I think of myself as Spiritual. I am part of the Religious Science faith - and we have banners in our sanctuary which display the symbols for many different religions. Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Taoism - etc. We like to say that we are Christians - and MORE - or Muslim - and MORE or any religion - plus MORE. We celebrate the good in all religions.

My church (center) has a beautiful website if you'd like to check it out..

The most important thing to remember is that there is just ONE GOD - one Power. We may use different tools (religions) to get close to It - and we may call It different things - but there is only one - and we are all connected through It. Our UNITY is so very important!

Still - I will admit that it gets hard to be so open and accepting when people tell me that I am going to burn in hell because I'm not following the Bible verbatim. Sigh. But - I try to be peaceful and loving - which is what I know God intended for me.

God bless and Namaste!!!

I don't believe in lumping the message together with the messengers. I feel I understand the Bible better since I became Pagan than I ever did when I was Catholic. (but from a much different angle) As far as Christian people go, I take each person as they come. Some are people that I consider truly Christ-ian, others are lousy messengers of thier teacher's words...All religions have bigots....

I call myself spiritual but I am a firm believer in God and Jesus Christ. I just don't like being called a "christian" because of all the other filth that refer to themselves as "christian" such as the preachers you see on Sunday morning TV. They give one little verse and then spend the next 30 minutes giving their OPINION on that one little verse.............instead of reading the bible in CONTEXT and as a whole. Verse #'s and Chapter #'s are man made. The bible was written as a book and meant to be read and studied that way. IN CONTEXT!!
