Words are meaningless in regard to LOVE. True love is a verb that revolves around self sacrifice.

Impossible. We are part and parcel of the Supreme Love and we can only compare Love to The actual Real Love which is eternal. Other wise this so called love is just a perverted reflection (lust) of the actual Love which only come from God. Also known as Krishna, Allah, Vishnu, Jehovah, etc. We have all of the qualities of God but not in the same quantity. Read Bhagavad Gita As it is BY Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada- tells the Truth about real Love.

I seen myself an Atheist for a on a similar time as, yet now I evaluate myself a non secular seeker. i do no longer purchase the belief of paternalistic judgemental God who instructions obedience. There are several types of love. Mother's love is going to be different than love for a friend. BUT - that aside - in general, my views are such:
Love is giving with an open heart, no strings attached.
It is the ability to give to another even to the point of harm to yourself (such as someone jumping in front of someone to press them out of the way - only to be harmed themselves).
Love is the ability to care for another - even when many would see them as 'unlovable'.

If you would have asked this question about 3 years ago, yes, I would have been able to. Now however, no I cannot. The Bible says that God is love, and I think the true meaning of the word revolves around Him and all that He stands for.
