I say that Chance and Circumstance are the only true gods.

Smarty Pants says that Cause and Effect are the only true gods (he sort of implied that in one of my questions).

Which pair is true?

Chance and Circumstance are an illusion of Cause and Effect.

Actually all circumstances are created by Chance, or Cause and Effect, and can also be combinations of both Chance AND Cause and Effect. Any given Circumstance is created by a number of variables, the more complex it is the more it will require a network of Chance AND Cause and Effect. Example: Having to stop at every traffic light, without exception, on the way to the Mall.
The less complex a circumstance the more it can be narrowed to Chance OR Cause and Effect. Example: In order to buy something one has to pay. OR a coin toss ends in tales.

What is Truth? It's a very subjective matter, and that is why wars are fought over such things.
I've got a better thought. Since 'God' existed before all else, then everything must be made from 'God', right? That means you are both right, because 'God' is in ALL things.
And as for which side... I'd be standing in the gap between the two attempting to reach a truce before things got out of hand.

Chance and circumstance is a probabilistic view.
Cause and effect happen only after and if the statistical fact has taken place.
So Chance and Circumstance is bigger god than Cause and Effect.
I'll pray to them both tonight, just in case...

As I subscribe to the Copenhagen interpretation, I believe that cause and effect break down at the quantum level. What we see as cause and effect at the macroscopic level, are just stoichiometric processes that accrue from favored quantum tendencies.

Why can't they both be true? Cause and Effect seem to fit with Circumstance.

If I believed in gods, I would go with energy, and thought. Everything is basically a form of energy (matter, forces, etc). Thought could be called a wild card.

You are sleeping, War already have been started between Christian and Muslims. Now is the time for climaxes. I am with the Muslims because the opponents, who claim they are peacemakers, they are actually terrorist by killing of lot of innocent women, old people and children. If you know from last 5 years in Iraq near about using the name of PEACE has killed 1000000 People. In Afghanistan near about 600000 but communications are closing news about actual figures because they scare from Mafia country.

I would be on the Christian side; not the side of the ones who thump the Bible and preach but don't practice; the ones who "by their deeds ye shall know them;" there's a BIG difference.

Oh, ye of little faith...

You must understand that such silly concepts are not really divine, and spirituality is not a humorous subject. It is important you realize that only the FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER (swt) and the INVISIBLE PINK UNICORN are the only True Gods™.

FSM and IPU bless
