We'll pass over what your boss might thinks if he/she comes by and sees you with your feet on your desk.
First off, if your work station is making you HURT, it is not ergonomic, and your boss should provide you with a station where you can work pain-free. Injuries caused by a non-ergonomic work station fall under the category of work-related injuries, which can lead to a workman's comp claim. Most employers want to avoid these, as claims lead to higher insurance premiums. Tell your boss your work station is causing you pain, and then work with HR or Health and Safety, if you have such an organization, to get a more comfortable station! Better chair, correct computer desk, etc.-- cheap compared to the cost of workman's comp claim.
And you want to be careful about leaning back in your chair and putting your feet on the desk, because some chairs just aren't very stable. One of the department managers here became the laughingstock of the organization when he put his feet on his desk, leaned back in his chair, and the chair tipped over with him in it. He hurt his back and got stuck between the desk and the wall. They had to call the paramedics to come and get him! He got laughed at for that until the day he left.
Get a more comfortable ergonomic arrangement. Good luck.

Yes it is. Get a footstool or a box. Get up and walk around every couple of hours, if you can't then do some shoulder and back stretch exercises at your desk.

It really doesn't show a very good work ethic to look so comfortable. You are supposed to slave in discomfort unless of course you are the boss! so removing my tongue from my cheek... It isn't so much rude as showing the wrong attitude.

It is rude to show other people the bottom of your shoes. I have a small foot stool under my desk to raise my legs.

I don't know about rude but it's not to smart. If you worked for me and I found you with your feet up you'd be soon looking for a new job.Employers want production not tail dragers.

If your boss understands your need to put your feet up, then do it. If your boss is not very understanding then a footstool may be helpful.

It is kind of rude, but talk to your boss about the problem and see what he says

My boss does it all the time. No one thinks anything about it. He still gets all his work done.
