A bad man refused to buy our brownies at the church bake sale. He said they were full of chocolate and sugar. We told them it was for God, and he said if he ate them , he would soon be with God...that was really insulting and our feelings were really hurt. If he had faith he should have eaten the brownies for Jesus. I know my dad always talked about eating Brownies..

Personally, my 'thorns in the flesh' have been some of the hardest things to deal with. That, and family opposition-apathy. And lack of appropriate emotional & medical support from my doctors & family (who believed that, since the Drs couldn't figure out what was wrong, & actually said that I was making it up -- that they Must have known what they were talking about) ... Decades later they were finally proven wrong.
My health problems caused me to lose out on finishing my education, & I was extremely depressed & disabled.
However, that was not due to my chosen faith. It was just 'time & unforeseen occurance'.
However, Many Christians ARE undergoing outright persecution --even right now-- for their faith. I'll give links to some on-line sources of a few of those accounts (those that I know are available on-line):

Being accused of doing something, to someone, that I never did. Due to the situation I had to leave all of my possessions behind, including some very few pictures of my parents, both of whom are deceased, furthermore, I was also displaced due to this. It took me a while to get over it, since then I have been able to forgive them. After all Christ forgave us, didn't he and he was persecuted far worse than we will ever be. He paid the ultimate price, for mankind. If we are to live up the standard of a true christian, than we must hold ourselves accountable to Christ teachings. Then and only then, can we be examples of Christ to others.

Actually, it was my son who experienced it.
He was attending a private school in a primarily Jewish (about 80%) school. NOTE: his persecution came not from his school mates but from the teachers and staff. Also, if I misspell or mislable something related to the Jewish religion, I apologize. I have no problems with them whatsoever! But in his school:
-He sat down to lunch and bowed his head to say grace. A teacher stopped him and said he was not allowed to do that.
-At holiday time they talked about and had a small sader. Christmas was only mentioned as Santa which is not the Christian reason for the season. The same thing with Easter; only bunnies and eggs Jesus could not be mentioned.
-They used window paint to decorate for the "winter holidays". Kids could draw menoras or dradels (?) but he was not allowed to draw a cross.
-It came to a head on the second "winter concert". They were practicing songs about the menora, the dradel and even Kwanza. He raised his hand and asked when they would sing a song about Jesus. He taken aside and told they don't talk about that. I wrote to teacher heading the concert who passed it off the Head of the School. I explained that Christmas is not a celebration of Santa, snowmen and a tree. It was all about Jesus. I also pointed out that the menora and dradel were religious and they were singing about them. First she said the last two items were not religious (hmmm, not what the rabbi said) and that they had decided to add a "Jesus song". I don't remember which one it was, but it only mentioned him in on stanza - WHICH THEY HUMMED!
-He asked my husband and I to take him to a Christian school, and he is now.

I've never been persecuted, however, I was made fun of for going to Church so often when a teenager, in stead of partying with the other guys.

When we were in China, and were locked and then saw other Christians being shot in the head then their body parts cut out and sold for money. This was a horrible event!

In America, we think we are persecuted, but nothing in comparison to those overseas.

I would have to say from Christians not of my own denomination. As a Catholic, there are a lot of Protestants out there fostering Anti-Catholicism. A lot of misinformation. Some outright lies. Which leads some people to forsake Jesus's commandment to love one another. They come at you tooth and nail. Looking for a fight.

I have never been persecuted. Criticized, yes, but never persecuted. I don't know of any Christian who has in this day and age.

Having somebody get mad at me at the door while I was offering them a gospel tract and an invitation to visit our church and asking them if they know where they're going to go when they die.
Pretty mild stuff.
