A box of instant powder milk (good source of calcium and vitamin D) for cereal and cooking. One package of eggs. Great source of protein and omega fatty acids, vitamin E. 12 will make 6 meals, cooked different ways. A loaf of bread. Box of oatmeal. 1 apple. 2 bananas. Can of corn and green beans. Can of baked beans. 1 can of Tuna (great source of protein). Any money left buy a head of lettuce. or a tomato. No cheeses. They are very pricey $ for what you get, and high in fat.
Good luck, mate. I've been there. Hope these are some ideas to choose from.

it won't be delicious, but if you get a bag of dry rice and a bag of dry beans (black, pinto, red, etc), they will make more than enough for a week and will make a complete protein. prepare them separately according to the directions on the package and don't make the whole bag at once. mix them together with some salt (which you can take from the condiments at fast food places). this is really the healthiest meal that can sustain you for a whole week. that won't even cost ten dollars, so you could use the rest for apples or carrots or another fruit or vegetable that keeps well. good luck!

look for a sale; i'd suggest ramen noodles; sometimes you can get them 10 for a dollar or at the very least, 5 for a dollar; then you can spend some money on a dozen eggs, and a head of cabbage; you can add an egg or cabbage with your ramen; that is a super meal.... you will have enough money for 2-3 weeks... good lucky.

Rice, beans, and eggs. Drink tap water, it's better then soda anyway, and look for opportunities to get free food. Go visit a friend who has more money and eat their food. Go visit your parents, they miss you. And get off the computer, you're wasting electricity and therefore money. And stop drinking beer, that's a waste of money too.

For yourself?? Um, I would go to a store that specializes in low prices or sales. I usually have all the staples, bread, milk, eggs, butter etc. Pancake complete, syrup (eat pancakes 3 days either for breakfast or dinner) egg sandwiches, cereal, oats. All of these are good healthy foods.

i totally agree with the ramen noodles suggestion; there are many diff flavors to choose from and they are VERY cheap.
also bread and either peanut butter or cheese; i dont think $10 would be enough for both. get 2 loafs of bread.

also i would suggest calling your city/town hall and finding out if they have a food bank... its a place that will help you out with food if you have a low income.
