What proof do I have that my soul will be saved??

or for that matter there is a soul....I am not convinced of any of it b/c I see no proof...

and why should I be so interested in my soul being "SAVED"??

You have asked a very good question, one I asked many years ago. My mom was very adament that there is a God and could not tell me how she knew. After getting into a rather heated argument with her I turned to my dad and asked him. His answer was - it is better to believe that there is a God and obey his ten commandments until we die. Once dead and there really is no God than nothing lost. However, if we do not believe in God and do not obey the commandments, die and oops there is really a God than ut oh now we have a problem for eternity!

That made a lot of sense to me and obey the ten commandments as best as I can. For a lot of reasons over the years I do believe there is a God and I have a much happier peaceful inner feeling.

Different religions and churches have a lot of "rules" etc. I don't go to church because I just think that most of it is man's twisted facts of the truth. Look at the ten commandments, it does cover everything! I'm not sure that I am answering your question sufficiently. Somewhere along your life's path when clouds are the darkest and you ask God for help and get it then and only then will you know that you have a soul and that it will be saved.

The soul is a concept invented by most smart people 2000 years or so back, at least.
It's use is simple:
If there's no soul and you lead a miserable life, you might do desperate things to make better of your life, but that´s not always possible or desirable to the powerful.
If there's a soul, you are promised by the smart ones that this miserable life of yours, if you don't make any trouble about your miseries trough out your lifespan, you will be rewarded by the most beautiful joy after death.
But after death, nature takes over the body.
The geniality of those smart made them solve the equation with the invention of the soul. When the body rottens, they taught us all, there's the soul to enjoy whatever was impossible to enjoy in life. So you feel rewarded in the end and keep quiet. But only if you're fool enough to mistake dogmas with truth.

LAZ0R TURK3Y is absolutely right but what he didn't tell you is that when they cut is out they give the soul to your mother and the third ball to your father. You are supposed to get them back when you are 21.

If you are not yet 21, you'll just have to wait and assume that your mom is saving your soul for you. If you are over 21 you need to demand to know what's happened to it. Many unscrupulous parents have started selling these souls for their own benefit.

What would you think of me if I asked you to hand me a cup of love? Or if I I needed a bucket of confusion? You have no trouble understanding abstract concepts, so why should you doubt that there is an inner "you" and that it is distinguishable from your material body?
It is a very narrow view of reality that only accepts what the eyes can see or the ears can hear or that which can be measured in a test tube.
