Bees are attracted to bright colors, and pretty smells. If you don't want to attract them, avoid using strong scents when you go outside.
One theory I have heard on keeping mosquitoes away is to eat bananas, there is something in bananas that keeps mosquitoes from biting.

Do not use any aftershave or bodyspray or hair gel. Anything with a fragrance will attract bees, and other bugs. If you are to be in an area, for a length of time, which contain bees and mosquitoes, then provide them with an alternative, such as a partially empty soft drink can, or some fruit like oranges, that you slice into quarters. Use this as a lure to direct them away from yourself.
