People are telling me that it might be illegal for tattoo shops in certain areas of the city to tattoo the inside of someones lip. I've never heard of that, but does anyone know about this?

In some states it's illegal to tattoo someone above the neck or below the ankle. Call a local tattoo shop in your area, they would know the laws regarding tattooing there.

very carefully!!! No really their are plenty of people out there with their lips tattooed, you don't say where you live so I don't know how many choices you have but take your time and go to a few different shops and just talk to some people and go with the ones you get the right feeling with, ask to see portfolios and what they charge and when they are available. tattooing the inside of your lip, that's hardcore girl.

I havent heard of it being illegal....I also want to get a tattoo on the inside of my lip. Just go to your tattoo artist and ask him about it, that's what I am going to do.

I dont think there are any laws that limit tattooing to specific areas of the body. Most artists have personal limits that they set for themselves and these limits vary from person to person. If you can get someone to tattoo your WHOLE face......I think getting an inside the lip tattoo would be a snap.

I haven't heard of this being illegal and I have seen people that have them. Personally I think if you are willing to go through the time, money, and pain of a tattoo you should get one wear people can see it... Good luck though. :)

Ive actually seen this done in a tattoo parlor here in California so I dont think its illegal.

i just watched bam and missy do it an hour ago. looked painful cuz even bam wanted it over and hes done some painful things. that was in pa. i imagine you just have to ask certain tattooers, some are more confidant in all tats, some arent as good. so research and make sure its a good place, i wouldnt want it to get infected there. good luck.

Maybe a veterinarian could do it. They do it for horses.

yeeeaaa, I just saw it on Bam's show too. I highly doubt its illegal. Ive seen it alot.
Call up your local tattoo shops and ask them.
Im sure its reeeeeally painful though.
