Ok... I got home and found my cat has a large wound in his side/back. It looks like another cat bit him. It is a large wound and it's oozing dead white cells. Yes, it's open. I can't get him to a vet right away. I need a way to keep it from getting worse. I need help from someone who maybe knows a spell or something? Please help me. I cant cast a circle right now. I'm a healer but for this I'm at a loss. Please help!

Did you READ the question? No duh I need to take him to a vet! I just can't do it now! The vet won't schedule an appointment sooner than tomorrow! I didn't specifically ask for a spell. I said OR SOMETHING! Like, for instance, a potion or herb. Yes, it's a spiritual question. I was trying to aim it at people who do witchcraft or natural healers. Please, don't critisize me. I know what I'm doing. (and Christians say THEY'RE being persicuted. Humph.)

Your cat doesn't need a spell. Your cat needs a hot compress.
The wound must stay open to drain. If it closes the infection will get worse.
DO NOT BANDAGE IT!!! Let it drain!!! Cats are very prone to abscesses if they get the tiniest nick, scratch or bite.
You should have an electric shaver to clean the hair from the area. Even if he's s a short hair. You can then see if there are any smaller tooth marks.
Get a small wash cloth. And boil some water.
Dunk the washcloth in the hot water. Put it on your arm. If it doesn't burn you then it's safe for Kitty. You don't want to burn him on top of his current injury.
Keep doing this. The wound must drain. Do not let it dry up and close.
Bandage it when all the draining is done.
Make an appointment to see the vet ASAP. He may need meds to clear the infection. He may be dehydrated as well.

Congrats at the new cat! And boost congrats for your new vet! You are going to desire to have a vet if you happen to plan on preserving the cat. Rabies vaccine can also be performed at reduction areas in a few towns. Many of the spay/neuter clinics present vaccine days. You must a minimum of get him vaccinated to defend him AND you-medicaly and legal responsibility-shrewd. You quite must a minimum of have a vet provide your new youngster a 'as soon as over' to ensure there aren't any critical disorders rumbling within the history. a few wounds from fights heal and not using a predicament, however as one more man or woman says-abcess(an unpleasant factor that may be dealt with and prevent a enormous predicament) You did not say if the subject used to be variety of raised/puffy. You stated it is not therapy-this implies there's a predicament. Get your youngster in to a vet like inside the following day!

This happened to my cat a few years ago, neighbors moved in and their cat apparently bit ours. It didn't even show for 2 days, then all of a sudden his side was a wide open, gaping wound, which apparently happens a lot with cat bites. We live in a small town, so there is no vet during the evening, when of course these things always happen, so we put gauze on it, and wrapped bandaging tape all around his middle until we could get him to a vet. Of course, the next morning he was at the vet as soon as they opened their doors, they had to flush it with antibiotics (cat bites are full of bacteria), and put quite a few stitches in him. He healed fine, but you really need to get him to a vet as soon as possible.
Sorry, a spell isn't gonna heal him, a vet will. Your vet will cut out the dead cells and clean the area, then stitch him. He'll probably be on antibiotics for a while too, no biggy. Good luck and get him bandaged immediately, the bacteria will grow very fast and the air won't help.
If its a small wound, you can disinfect it, but with a large gaping one, our vet told us not to do anything but cover it (we called the answering service when it happened and they called back with what to do until we could get him in). Antibiotic ointment that's good for minor boo-boo's can be deadly with deep ones. The pain alone of trying to disinfect a deep one could put him in shock.

Get to a vet as soon as you can, in the interim, call a vet's office and ask what kind of treatment they recommend in the interim... do NOT try to do anything outside of this, injured animals, no matter how much they wuvs you to bits get confused and angry when in pain and might turn you into a EMS patient. While you might look good with stripes... it's safer to take the advice of a vet clinic.

A cat bite wound can become infected amazingly fast. Get him to the vet ASAP.
And why are you letting your cat outside anyway? Do a bit of research on feline leukemia and feline AIDS. They are rampant in the feral cat population, there isn't a reliable vaccine for either of them, and FIV in particular is a hideous death sentence. Letting your cat outdoors is just playing Russian roulette with his life, in my opinion.

Fundamentalist Christian here...
Get the cat to an emergency vet... get someone to help you if need be.
Follow other directions until that time. Keep the wound open, clean, disinfected.

Dude, disinfect it for starters.
Don't try to keep the wound cold either, it'll only kill more cells.
Try to stop the bleeding with a cloth, or if the wound is on an appendage, keep that wound above heart level.
This is what my doc did when I sliced off my finger tip, so it should work with your cat.

Have you cleaned out the wound with some peroxide? You should get your cat to the vet right away. Never leave medical needs up to magic alone.

get some neosporin and rub that in , but try to eliminate the cat from getting a hold of it ! you can make a shield out of card board around the cats neck - they don't like it but it works. before you put the neosporin try washing and squeezing out all the dead white cells out then apply! neosporin is a tripple antibiotic - he might need some oral ones as well! only the vet can help with that!
good luck!
