spend the entire week there, if you want to experience the whole NASCAR life..... but, the night before the race and the day of the race are packed full of enough fun to fill a whole week themselves.

Not likely to get a room in town, so you will be driving from another town further away. The town population is about a 10th of what it will be on race weekend.

Take a tent, dont worry about a room.... or showering. Rough it a little and use the money you would have spent on a room on beer.

YOu didn't say where you are from.....??

Go here for a parking/camping map http://www.talladegasuperspeedway.com/documents/tss_2007_parking.pdf

Cheapest would be the free camping way out in the trees on the right.
Have you ever been to a Nascar/Cup race??
imagine 5 superbowls all in one area that is what traffic is like.
drive in, Camp in the free stuff, spend 3 nights, buy Allison Grandstand tickets, when the race is over, go back to your tent, BBQ, nap until 10 or so and traffic will be gone.
To save money, you might just buy Sunday tickets.

Do like I did last year, get a room in Sylacaga Sat and Sun night, party it up in the parking lot on sat with the other race fans, get up on sunday (early early early to get to track somewhat before the majority of traffic) and head to the track. DO NOT park near the track in the parking lot, the line out will kill you, park on the roads a ways away. Sure you will have to walk a little bit but it will be well worth it, they also have shuttle busses.

Bring your own beer to race, but make sure you dont have a large cooler, has to be soft sided. Drinnk it up, cheer for Tony Stewart, lines for restroom are long, the lines for food are even worse, so pack something if you want in the cooler, and most of all have a good time.

Friday,Saturday,Sunday.
Pitch your tent.
Make it a weekend see the Saturday race and venture up and down the vendors row.
Watch the fans Saturday night and then see the Sunday race.
Been there, done that and got the t-shirts,
That's all I have to say about that.

We go the cheapest route every year. We but 2 day tickets in the Allison Grandstand (back stretch)$60. Stay in our tent in the free camping areas(there are several within walking distance from the track). We bring our own food, water, beer and ice.
Check out free concerts and just enjoy our weekend away.
