Meditate on having a simple life,.. less material possessions and food would be a good start. You may want to finish off by knowing we all are made of the same things and come from the same place.

Find a comfortable chair outside with a view of some trees and some sky. Get an appropriate drink (hot coffee if it's morning, maybe a brown ale during the day, port at night). Sit down. Light up a nice cigar. Gaze at the trees and sky.
Take a sip.
Take a puff.
Give a contented sigh.
Repeat.

I advise you sing HU (pronounced hue or hew). HU is the ancient name of God given by God Himself. It can be chanted or sung quietly to yourself when you are in trouble or when you need consolation in time of grief. It gives strength, it gives health, it opens you as a channel for the greater healing of Divine Spirit. Basically, when you sing or chant HU, you are saying, "Thy will be done Oh God."
Adopt a comfortable position in your quiet time. You may close your eyes (to minimize distractions) or leave them open. Then think of happy moments (anything that puts a smile on your face). Place your attention on the spiritual eye (the spot between the eye brows and behind the nose. Take a few deep breaths then sing or chant HU as in HEEUUU, with the U sound drawn out on expiration. Do this for twenty to thirty minutes each day, say before going to sleep.
Thereafter, watch your dreams. You may have some experiences while doing the chant. Even when you don't notice anything, the HU is already working. Try it.

"cast all your cares on me" There are times we just cant handle everything and we must pass the cares onto Jesus. It can bring peace very fast.
