I agree with some of the others that it would be helpful to know what kind and color scars you have. I also agree that mesh as part of your dress or flesh-colored mesh is a very good idea. I've thought of it just to improve the lines of clothing, and often wear mesh because my skin is really ruddy and yucky looking. Dermablend is also a good coverage choice, but you might also want to try Amazing Concealer (http://www.amazingcosmetics.com/index.asp ) or a liquid mineral makeup made by Illuminare Cosmetics (http://www.illuminarecosmetics.com/ ). I'd definitely try a test run with whatever you choose, also. Have a friend take some pictures of you outside or in whatever light you might be, so you you can see how the makeup looks, and wear something white, so you can see if it transfers.
I wouldn't bother trying any scar therapies available over the counter. If you have scarring on 95% of your body, they'd probably cost you more to treat over the counter than with a doctor! And a doctor's treatemnts would work better. So if you want to, you can look into scar removal treatment with a dermatologist. One who's certified in plastic surgery would probably be the best choice for someone with extensive scarring like you describe. There are laser and light therapies to use on your face and body, and on your face sometimes they use acid peels (as long as you didn't originally scar from something similar). Your doctor would be able to help you figure out which treatments would work best on your individual scars.
Above all, do keep in my what everyone has said here: your family and fiance are just going to see your happiness! And Photoshop can take care of everything in photos, so don't stress on that score. The most important thing to do on your wedding day is to have fun and enjoy it. I know it's easiest to relax if you feel beautiful, so use some of these tips but also concentrate on how adoring your family, friends, and fiance are, and you'll be able to feel beautiful no matter what.
Good luck and best wishes for your marriage!

I hope this helps: figure skaters and some movie stars wear revealing clothes, but also flesh-covered "sleeves" and tights that cover up their body. Get a good match, and you might consider some elegant gloves. The important thing is to find something that makes you feel wonderful. Your friends and family look past your scars to see the real you, and they will do so in any photographs, too.
But if you can't look past the scars without cringing, you might ask the photographer to do some airbrushing. Then you can wear all the make-up you like at the ceremony without worrying about your dress.
BTW, congratulations on your engagement!

Also, if you don't want to wear anything that might come off on your dress, remember that your photos can be "retouched" later in Photoshop and your pictures will look like you never had a single scar at all.
Cover what you can, but don't worry because a photographer who is familiar with photoshop can retouch your pictures afterward and they will be magazine cover flawless.

I would wear a sheer material rather than makeup - over parts like neckline, shoulders, arms, back.
