I have two prescriptions. One for 1 mg, 90 tablets a month and one for 2mg, 90 tablets a month, with three refills each. He decied to raise my dose but the old prescription was still fillable. So availability of pills is not a problem, expecially since in the beginning I hoarded them.

You got to do something about this and you need to tell the doctor somehow. You may be addicted because of 'addict' behavior or the drug may not be working for you the way it's supposed to so you are taking more than prescribed. If you are serious about your mental health and just want to feel 'normal', you need to explain that the current prescribed amount is not working properly and you feel you need more. The doc may just tell you that it's ok to take 9 or 10 or they may want to switch you to something else.
You didn't say why you were taking 9 or 10 and I'm wondering if you are trying to get 'high' off of it. It's really easy to get addicted to stuff like that without even realizing it (I had that problem with Ativan) If you are chasing that feeling of being 'drugged' than that's a problem and you could just be an addict. You are NOT supposed to feel drugged when you are taking meds that are supposed to make you feel 'normal'. If you are afraid to tell the doctor you are taking too much because you fear that you will lose the prescription, then I'd say you've got an addiction and you've got to do something about this fast before it gets worse (and it will).

Klonopin is very addictive and supposedly harder to quit than heroine, so the less you take the better. Tapering off this drug can be hell. There are other options for anxiety as far as drugs go that you may want to discuss with your doctor. Also, Klonopin is one of those drugs that you can build a tolerance to, therefore you could end up needing more and more as time goes on. If you need to stay on it, it's possible that it can be done safely at a reasonable, prescribed dosage. Check out www.benzo.org.uk
...there is a TON of information about Klonopin! Good luck.

You should never change the dosage of any medication without first talking to your doctor, this doesn't mean that many people don't do it. Your doctor isn't there to judge you but to manage your care, letting them know how much of a med you are taking, especially one like Klonopin, can help them regulate you meds to a level that is functional to you. It's possible that Klonopin is not the best option for you either, your doctor may want to try something else. Next time, let your doctor know that the dosage perscribed isn't working and let them decide how to change the dosage. Good luck!

Your doctor is not dumb. Your supply will not last the 30-90 days you were given...then what? Will you go "cold turkey" and have and episode?
Klonopin is a controlled substance. If your doctor thinks you are abusing it you would need to sign a contact not to do it again....then if you don't follow the agreement you will be cut off.

Yes. klonopin will only work so well. If you are taking more then the doc thinks then he/she can't make the nessessary changes. You may need something to take with the klonopin or something different all together to help get the results you need.

Yes! Tell your mental health professional EVERYTHING! S/he cant help you if they don't know. Also, they can change your meds or up the dosage. Also, there may be a chance that you can overdose or cause permanent damage to your body by taking more than the recommended amount

YES! The doctor is someone you always have to be truthful with. If he prescribes you a medication for something else, it could cause a fatal interaction.

Yes. He's not your father! He's a trained professional, (we hope) Plus you really don't want to develop an addiction to them. Maybe he can prescribe something different. Good luck.
