More clarification, perhaps.
If a news source is pumping out polarized opinion, it has lost the right to call itself a news organization. News means objective journalism.
Now there are a lot of opinion sources: blogs, talk shows, etc. which discuss issues in a very secific way which illustrates their position only.
No one wants censorship of media, but if an organization holds itself out as a purveyor of true news and information and does not do that, their weakest point is their advertising dollars.
Turn the channel, block the site and stop buying.
BTW, the restrictions in the 40s were for a real world war. Those in the 50s were from Mr. McCarthy's machinations. And the rules for the 60s came from the Viet Nam conflict. I'd suggest that media emebedded with the troops in the Middle East are censored already because of being embedded.

Yes, there should be some stronger censorship in/on the media. If enough people stopped watching or listening to
the junk that is coming over the airwaves then the producers,
& sponsors of these type shows might get the message & go back to a more wholesome agenda for the media. Children do copy what they see & hear, so it is tearing our future down.
Only ignorant, immature people enjoy the filth that
is passed off as art and entertainment.

When you say media I am assuming you mean television. How about they just improve the content? Most current programming is mindless, useless dribble. You want to have things improve on your TV, demand less "reality" TV and more quality, intelligent programs. A want for higher censorship is just putting a band-aid on it.

absolutely YES. the shows of 40's 50's etc. were so much fun. why was it okay to insinute that couples slept together and had sex back then, and we realized it. are we so unimaginative these days, that we have to see it to know its happening. Also, violence was not a big thing back then. Just a few cowboys shootin' up the town.
My favorite show is Gunsmoke. the love affair between matt dillon and Kitty Russell is so hot yet we never even saw them smooch. but their eye contact and body language tell you they are one hot couple.

Yes and no. Yes because I think it's affecting the youth and minds of people who can't think for themselves too much. No because it would get out hand and America is all about freedom of the press and whatnot.
Also I think we should stop all this advertisement. Capitalism should be about the people choosing the better product and competition driving the economy, not brainwashing people to buy stupid things.

We lost more rights. http://www.savethestreams.org We are turning to a World War II Nazi Country. Nazis burned books to kill communication and censored radio and media.
Our government now is doing the same thing.

It's censorship that is destroying media today. They censor the facts and hand out their "professional" OPINIONS. Problem with people today though is they are dependent on television, so therefor what this so called factual media says is right.

American media must be censored because it has become too liberal and inimical to religion.
