No, of course not- hair is hair, but back in the day it was true that the poorer people got lice more frequently because they were forced to live together in small spaces and travel to America all packed in tight on boats and whatnot, and lice breed and spread best when a lot of people's heads are in close proximity, so it would follow that poor people who are forced to live in close quarters with others have a better chance of getting lice than people with enough money to spread out more. However, I have known lots of middle and upper-class kids in school who came down with a gnarly case of lice just from sharing combs, hair ribbons, etc.

No, but people who live in a crowded apartment or the like will find it much more difficult to get rid of lice since someone else has them by the time that person gets rid of them and they just keep coming back. Many schoolchildren get lice because of close proximity, even if they're rich kids.

Anyone can get head lice. It is passed through sharing brushes, ball caps, contact with a person effected. It is not as common in African Americans because of the products they use to add moisture to their hair. It is also false that "dirty" people get it. Lice like clean hair free of oil because they adhere better to the hair strands. Lice are said to also be able to jump up to 6 feet. GROSS!
Hope this was useful.

Not at all. Anyone can get lice at any time (no matter what their income bracket is). Many people get head lice when they are children because kids tend to share things like hats, pillows and stuffed animals and are in close proximity.

Later in life, pubic lice (AKA Crabs) can be transmitted through sharing beds, clothing or through sexual activity.

Lice do not discriminate between clean hair or dirty hair- they'll take what they can get.

yes.. why yes they do. Just kidding. Did you know it's easier to catch lice if you wash hair very often? Clean head & hair is easier for lice to get around in.

No, anyone can get it from pillows, combs, hats, etc. that had been used by someone with lice, who in turn got it from pillows, combs...etc.
You get the idea. Lice are parasytes, nothing to do with cleanliness or poverty.

No! A lot of people get it. I thought that mostly little kids, in kindergarten and first grade and stuff, get it because it's passed around easily.

No- anyone can get them if in contact with a person who has them- most likely kids will get those in school from their classmates.
