I live in Costa Rica and I have not been able to find cream for coffee here at all not even half and half. the best they have is coffee mate and i am a big coffee drinker. I love my cream. Does anyone know of something i can make or use instead of coffee mate that would be equivelant to coffee cream and work in coffee. Any help would be apprecitated
thanks

i have been using milk but it just isn't the same as cream. I have not looked for evaporated milk yet and whipping cream here just isn't good at all it last's only 3 days and it kinda curdles in your coffee. the only milk I will drink here is 2 percent. ( because whole milk here is kept on the shelf in cardboard juice containers like apple juice and i refuse to drink milk that is not in the cooler)

Supermercado La Corona (a local chain) carries cream for your coffee fix. They also carry whipping crean and milk, which you can use for your coffee.

If all else fails, try using condensed milk.

Best of luck.

Hey i can help you out... Take some whole milk and put it in a pot, add usual amount of sugar taken in coffee, if any at all.. bring milk to a boil, and just as the milk starts to rise up.. .whisk it super fast for about a minute.. take it off the heat, and add to your coffee... this is especially delicious if you make your coffee in an italian style (puerto rican) expresso pot... Hope this helps

Look for condensed milk or evaporated mile. Only problem is if you don't like the coffee with sugar, as these are pre-sweetened!

I am going to go out on a limb here and suspect that they do not have regular milk either. Try looking for soy milk.

Cream was always very expensive when I was growing up so my father used evaporated milk.

I would use condensed milk in a can to put in my coffee. That's what we use in Germany too.
