I can't imagine a preference. So many couples cannot conceive when they want or ever! It seems selfish to have an intense preference.

I have both a boy and a girl. I would have been thrilled to have all one or the other. From my (limited) experience, boys and girls are different to raise in some ways (my son seems naturally more aggressive, even in affection and LOUDER! LOL.). There would be differences as they grow, of course. Otherwise, children are children!

I hear ppl say that "W/ a girl you have to worry about her getting pregnant." Hello. It takes a boy to get a girl pregnant. Shouldn't we be concerned about sexual activity in both our sons and daughters? I just can't wrap my mind around that objection to having a girl.

When someone (usually a woman) says that she wants a little girl to dress up, I have to shake my head. Not all girls love frilly dresses, the color pink, and have the sole aspiration in life to be a pampered princess. Many girls have completely different likes and there's nothing wrong w/ a sporty girl or a girl who likes both "girly" things or "boyish" things.

When a man says he wants a son to play sports w/, I gag too. After all, are girls genetically incapable of playing catch? OMG, I though we were an enlightened culture. My daughter loves to play ball and so does my son. Both my son and daughter love the play kitchen they have and both play w/ dolls (though my daughter is more interested in dolls). My son even "comforts" and "nurses" a doll on occassion. Very cute! I expect he'll grow up to be as wonderful and sensitive a dad as his father.

Sadly, it seems like gender preferences are often a reflection of sex biases that should be long outdated. Oh well.

I knew from the offset that i would have a boy and i was right. I was grateful too as that was what i'd wanted. I wouldn't have been gutted to have had a girl but i think i would have struggled to 'understand' a girl. I grew up with 4 brothers and have always been a tomboy so i have no idea how to braid hair and hate dresses etc. If i'd had a girl she would more than likely have ended up as a tomboy because i don't know how to raise a 'girly' girl.

When I was 22 I wanted so bad for the baby I was carrying to be a girl. She was a girl but born a micropremature infant with many medical problems as a result.. This was my first child who I love dearly hard to believe she will be 14 in a few days

When I was pregnant the second time I didnt care what gender my child was as long as it was healthy because that is all that matters. He is now 10 months old and healthy as can be and I am greatful for that.

I have been blessed with 3 happy healthy children, 2 are boys and the other is a girl, i love them all equally, and wouldnt change them for the world, but i do prefer boys lol....my little girl doesnt talk she whines, which is a bit annoying after 5 years of it, boys are more loving towards mum tho, but we all have an opinion and not all of us will agree......

Thats really hard!!! I love my boy because you can do things with him you can't do with the girls but I love my 2 girls because again there different than my boy so its hard but sence I'm one of those big shoppers and my boy is only 9 months old I'd pick my girls because the one is older and fun to do things with! Well it depends on the age again my boy is 9 months old and so's my girl (there twins) but then my 4 year old is just a doll and if you have or are going to have one then Good Luck!!! But my anwser is a girl.

If I had to chose and the baby would be healthy either way, I'd go with a boy. My son has been alot more inexpensive and is easier to take care of than my neices. I helped raise all of my neices (was like a live in Nanny) and it just seemed like their were more expenses with girls and alot more drama. I'm 33 weeks pregnant with my daughter and wouldn't change a single thing.

I want two sons then a girl. Then anything after those three is fine. The reason I want sons first is that because if my husband dies the eldest son can take care of me and his siblings and so if my daughter's husband doesn't treat her like a queen or hits her my sons can put the guy in his place. Plus my husband also wants sons as well.

I have 2 boys and 3 girls. Girls argue more but are easier to comunicate with. My first son passed away but my other son is a good kid but tends to get in more trouble then the other kids.

Honestly to us it didn't matter as long as we had healthy babies. We have two boys and during my last pregnancy all I heard from people was I'm sure you really want a girl this time, but we didn't care.
