In my opinion, no. I think consciousness only occurs when one is fully awake, living in the truth and absorbing reality. But there is no answer to your question, of course.

Consciousness is when you're fully awake, with your 5 senses on alert. But can we say it's infinite? Infinity is a big word. Does infinity even exist? Maybe in geometry (circles) and mathematics, and the universe out there, but not in everyday life. Infinity is a concept that is much bigger and beyond any human's imagination. Our finite (mortal) bodies, cannot hold anything infinite, even consciousness is mortal like us, starts and ends at specific points. You see, an infinite thing can hold finite things (Universe has plants, which will be destroyed someday), but the opposite is quite impossible to achieve.

I think it would be boring to live in this body for an eternity. I like the idea of infinite consciousness and multiple existences. It gives a more well rounded idea about humanity and the subjectiveness of existence.
Peace!

No conscience is not infinite - it is directly linked with our physical bodies. It is a mystery how our conscience will reconnect with us when Christ gives us our new glorious bodies.
"Q: 2. What is conscience?
A: "Conscience, in fact is the 'place' where MAN is illuminated by a light which does not come to him from his created and always falible reason, but from the vary Wisdom of the Word in whom all things were create." < Nov 1988, to Second International Congress on Moral Theology, L'Osservatore Romano, Dec 19-26, 1988 JPII>

Part of the problem is describing what infinity is. It's too big a concept to fit into a single mind.
