I started dieting a while ago and it's been working really well, I started out at 168 pounds, now I'm stuck at 132.2 and my next goal is 130 then 125 and my final is 120. I'm 5'5" Male, 19 years old.
So - I know this is normal, called Plateau or something OR! my body is in Starvation mode , coz i eat really little - lower than 900 calories a day and exercise a lot. Now I'm trying to eat a little bit more and changing my treadmill work out.

What happened is: this morning (4th or 5th day of me being stuck on 132.2) I weighed my self then went on treadmill, burnt 300 calories in half hour then weighed my self again and I dropped 1.1 pounds - which is ... weird ... now I'm at 131.1 - does that mean the phase of being stuck is over ?

Thanks Everyone.
and just for no reason at all I want everyone to know that: I am craving a cinnabon, I bought one but I haven't eaten it yet - I might just give it to someone.

ok wow. first of all, a male should weigh 150lbs and up. why are you trying to become so skinny? and why are you starving yourself? that keeps you from losing weight because any little thing you consume goes straight to be stored as fat. 900 calories is WAY too little especially for a male who should have 2,500. if you're trying to lose weight, ( which really you need to GAIN A LOT OF WEIGHT), you should eat around 1,500. Don't over exercise, only about an hour a day 5 days a week. your body needs to rest or its not going to work. go eat ur cinnabon u need it.

update- oh i didnt realize you said u're 5'5''. well, you should probably weigh about 130 then. so i think you're good where you're at.

Okay Three points that follow should help you.

1.You're right, 900 calories is starvation mode and your body
knows it, so it slows down its metabolism to stop you losing weight....this helps to preserve your health. You know when you take too few calories you begin to burn muscles and organ tissue...dangerous.

2. When you plateau, you need to UP your calorires, then your body thinks there's no need to slow the metabolism down because you are eating more now.

3. The weight you lost after exercising is water, through sweat.

So, take 1300 calories minimum....don't panic, you'll see it WILL work. Your metabolism will speed up and your weight will start to go down again.

Your goal weight should not be 120lb....this is too thin for your height. You'll look scrawny. Go for 130 minimum.

You should talk to a trainer/nutrionalist. I heard that you are NEVER supposed to go below 1200 calories a day, especially if you are pysically active. Your body needs fuel to burn and it doesnt sound like you are feeding it enough. Just make sure you are getting the right calories - you probably need more protein in your diet. So dump the cinnabon and have a chicken breast!

Hey heres a good though, eat the cinnabun, and be happy! Did you ever think that maybe going up would also be a way to get out of that? Like if you were 32.8, thats not bad if you normally only have 900 calories and exercise alot!

ah the dreaded weight loss plateau. you should eat more, like 1800 calories. the best way to get past it is to eat more and change your exercise routine. you've done both of those, so hopefully, you're over it. but you're getting too thin. use the chart.

If you are 5'5" and stuck at 132 it is because you are probably too thin already. Go ahead and eat that cinnabon.

Throw away your scale and take up a hobby...you are too obsessed with this. If your pants get too loose or too tight, wiegh yourself and take appropriate measures. Get a part time job with UPS as a package handler---you'll lose weight quick.
