It's not a topical or a sarcastic question, I really want to know why this was not a realistic option to a war that's how old?
Couldn't less than 20 Marines have done the job in Iraq or anywhere else America has gone since the 1980s?

brought him in everybody got to go
home, so DUH? By the way the

Well of course not. How well do you think you would do if you were given old equipment that didn't work? Those soldiers are over there waiting for orders to fire when they are being fired upon. There was no plan for the soldiers to follow, so they were taking it one step at a time. You also need to understand that this is real life, not the movies. This whole thing is so messed up, half of the soldiers don't have clue. Thank you and may GOD come soon to right the wrongs that have been done on this earth.

Those people exist only in movies. The Kennedy administration attempted to have Castro assassinated using covert means. They failed every time. Assassinating a dictator is extremely hard because they are well protected by a secret police apparatus.

Killing Saddam alone would not have brought down the regeime. Another dictator would have stepped into his place.
Also, the political ramifications would have done more to damage the United States' image on the world stage. (Not that its image is shinning now).

huh maybe because Saddam is already dead, we hung him!! hello pick up a paper and read it some time! And you may want to know Saddam did not start this war or any war on Americans anywhere!! we invaded Iraq they did not threaten to invade America, catch a clue!!

Might have in the cold war days, but now the Congress has declawed the CIA to an extent.. Those smart bombs work pretty well though....

Because it is against our own laws to assassinate the leader of another country. You will notice we took good care of Saddam while he was in our custody. We let the Iraqi people hang/partially decapitate him.
