i havent seen him in a few days... its a new relationship so i was wondering is it the same for guys or is it and out of sight out of mind thing?

A little bit of both? It depends how much he likes you, if he likes you a lot he'll be thinking about you a lot everyday, if not then... But no matter how much he likes you, if you don't see each other for long enough he will just lose interest after a while or maybe even gain interest in someone else. Make it a point to get with him regularly and show him what he's missing out on when he's without you.

this is really a person to person kind of thing, different people have different reactions to a relationship as well as being away from them, i personally do agree with the whole absence making the heart grow fonder, if im ever away from my girlfriend for an exteneded period things always seem stronger when i get home.

Yes and no.
It does but it also has a time limit. It works for about 3 weeks (give or take one week depending on the guy), after that he starts looking around. You are in the zone where he wants you even more.

It depends on the guy. I was in a long distance relationship for a while, and we missed each other terribly. It's all about keeping in touch often, but not too much. If you call too often, it can be a hassle and if you don't call often enough, he'll think you don't care about him, and he may suspect that you're cheating while you're away.

I think it really depends on how he feels.....I think it's an interesting test. If it's "out of site, out of mind", he's probably not that into you. If he misses you and makes contact, wanting to find out how you are, then that is a good sign.
I always wanted someone who would think about me and miss me as much as I do them.....being apart for a bit is a good, if not scary way of determing where things are going.

im not a guy, but i really agree with that saying! when your around eachother too much, you get sick of eachother, once your away for a while, u realize how huch you miss eachother and like eachother.
