Hi. Da Vinci was famous. Why? Anything that supports "why?" is a cause. My opinion.

Edit : He painted the picture which caused him to be famous. He did not paint the picture because he was famous.

Neither; it is a fact. The 'he' in question would be Leonardo Da Vinci.
