Japan had nothing to do with the 'cause' of the bomb to be built. German scientists who immigrated to the US prior to the war persuaded the US govt that Germany was developing the bomb and it was imperative to beat them to the punch. Little did they know, that the Germans scientists still in Germany working on the project intentionally delayed it, knowing that the Fuhrer was deranged. Also, the sabatage at the heavy water plant in Norway knocked the Germans out of the race.
The only reason Japan got the first hit was because Germany surrendered before the bomb was ready. The saving of GIs and getting the war over with before J.Stalin entered the scene in the orient was paramount in Aug. 45.

Some will tell you that it was meant to save the Jews. But that is BS. It was the one single determining factor for many years making the US the only world superpower. The US would have used it to intimidate any and all countries to do the US' bidding. Thankfully, the USSR developed another bomb. The cold war cost many deaths through the proxy battle between the empires. But i am sure that without deterrence, the US would have used a third bomb somewhere else. Atomic power has been from the outset, a tool to advance hegemonic ambitions.
And about the Germans, don't believe the hype. The Soviets defeated the Nazis, period. The pacific theater was a war of conquest. The bomb was the leverage the US had on the Soviets, it was dropped 2 days before they were meant to join the war with Japan. Obviously, the US wanted all the spoils, so they bombed and ended the war without USSR colaboration.

Go read a history book
The world was at war. Hitler was attempting to split the atom so that Germany could win the war. He had the intention to use the bomb against Brittan and The USA.
The USA worked to develop nuclear technology first and was able (with the help of Albert Einstein) to split the atom first.
After the surrender of Germany in 1945, it was obvious that the war in the Pacific with Japan would not be so easily ended.
The decision was made to drop two bombs on the Islands of Japan to effect an end to the war.
The rest -- as they say -- is history.

Well, here's the thing: The idea of a weapon morphed out of the discovery of nuclear fission and fissible material. The US government had been working on a way to harness the vast amount of energy tucked into such a small mass for many years. Concurrently, someone came up with the idea of seeing what would happen given an external detonation, and the nuclear weapon was born. Not so much out of necessity -- that is, to use in WW2 -- but rather as a natural progression of the examiniation of this new technology.
Afterwards, when the Soviets got their own nuclear weapons, there was a serious arms race to make bigger and better nuclear weapons, but that's a story for another time...

First, Albert Einstein and Leo Szilard drafted a letter to the US government recommending research into nuclear fission. They were later instrumental figures on the Manhattan Project, which was the group that created the A-bomb. Essentially the government felt that if the US were to invade Japan, far too many American lives would be lost. They tasked the scientists and military advisers attached to the Manhattan project to create a weapon that would end WWII faster and more efficiently. However, the initial reason the Manhattan Project was started was because US leaders were worried about Germany's plan to create nuclear weapons.

The end of the war was nearing and the technology was on the forefront. The germans were working to builld an atomic bomb because they knew taht they were going to lose the war. So in an effort to beat them and not let them change the tide of the war the Americans collected the best scientists in the world and tasked them to build one first.

Albert Einstein warned FDR that the Germans had actually split the atom and what it could mean. That started it, The US started to work on it also...The British bombed Germany's heavy water facility and that allowed the US to the time to catch and pass the Germans in developing the bomb....

It was necessary to build in order to defeat the Japanese during WWII, if not for the atomic bomb, the estimates of US losses would have been an additional hundreds of thousands, and the war would have lasted 1-2 more decades.

Nuclear learn and Einstein's theories led scientists to the top that a great variety of potential may be released by potential of nuclear fission, or what they reported as "splitting the atom." there grew to become right into a race with Germany to boost the atomic bomb, and this is a solid ingredient that American scientists, via expatriate German scientists, have been given the bomb first. however the thought grew to become into already in place, it grew to become into purely a remember of creating it and making it paintings. the 1st attempt grew to become into above floor, in New Mexico. The attempt grew to become into the end results of three years' making plans and progression in the super secret long island undertaking headed by potential of prevalent Leslie R. Groves. Dr. J. The USA had the technology and realised that developing it would give the user unsurpassed power.
Once the initial test had been carried out it was a straightforward step to make bombs that could be released from aircraft, and convert aircraft to carry them.
Japan was close to defeat by the time the bombs were ready to be deployed which is why the US could safely drop them on Hiroshima and Nagasaki without fear of an escalation of the war.
