how can i obtain gril marks cooking inside using the broil option on my kenmoore besides a perminate black marker?

If you have a grill rack that will fit on top of a baking sheet, you can get grill marks, but that's about the only way.

The key here is to get your broiler pan really hot! You might try placing a cast iron grill under your broiler to accomplish the kind of grill marks you want, but it's going to be incredibly hot, so be careful!!! Sear on both sides of the meat, usually 1 - 2 minutes per side and remove from direct heat to finish cooking.

Why not use a black marker, that's how Burger King does it.

Food has to be directly on the heating element in order to get marked. A broiler won't work.
