I never do that. I think it is wrong to try and convert people. No human can convert anyone. Only God can do that. If God wants them then he will show them the way. People can't do it, so I don't bother.

The Bible shows little wisdom. It is a fictitious fable without any proof of even being sacred, its almost as absurd as a Dr. Seuss book. It also bases its followers to accept and commit hatred, prejudice, and murder, None of which should even apply to any decent person's life let alone over half of the worlds population. As for any attempt to convert an athiest you might as well take a shot in the dark, trust me, its not because we are stubborn, its that there are much better things to worry about than arguing over who is right.

First of all, we cannot convert anyone. Only God can change hearts when the heart is willing to change.
I understand that atheists value human opinions more than Word of God, but I use the Word of God because that can change everything. There is a lot to lose in the end but until then we all are humans and we should love and help each other the best way we can. : )

That might work on some of us if we say the bible in the same way that you do. To me, the bible is just a compilation of old scribblings by very superstitious people who lived in very primitive times.
Why should I let what they wrote influence my life ? Where did they get their information ( please don't say from "god".)
When you who are trying to convince Atheists to follow your "god" start by explaining just how one person can be three people, or three people can be one person. Explain how :god" is Christ's father, but he was conceived by a ghost. Why isn't the ghost the father ?
Don't try bible quotes on me. I have more confidence in quotes from the newspaper comics. They're far more believeable.

my mother said its best to have a heart knowledge, along side a head knowledge, people should speak from the heart, not from a book, my mother lead many many people to the lord and she never quoted a verse.that i know of anyways.she knew the bible she was a Sunday school teacher ,she was wise.and spiritual, i miss her so.no one should Go after those who do not believe the way the do, they should be lead by the spirit to talk with someone, that's when its best, and live a life that is true Christian.i never talk with people about them being any certain way, i do however let people know that i simply love God and have his spirit guiding me, i may share with someone some storys of life saving miracles i have witnessed,i love God and like i would anyone i loved i will tell people how much i appreciate that friend

Well I know some stubborn atheists and I don't think that Scripture wouldhelp them at all. I think as a Christian being around someone atheist that actions speak louder than words and by living a good example to them that maybe you can show them the love of Christ. I am not into pushing scripture and so forth on people. In my experience has pushed them away more then drawn them to me.

one cannot convert anyone. Nor should one try.
The concept of believing in God and Jesus is a matter of personal preference or freewill (if you will) for those who do believe, then we already know that the Lord knows us and we believe the Lord also knows those who do not believe. If believing in God and Jesus comforts you in any way then I am all for it. I would never try to force my beliefs onto anyone else.
I say that whatever earth and mankinds destiny is, it is at that point in time we will find the truth. so why should believers and non-believers argue and bicker. Both sides think that they have it right. One side isnt going to prove or disprove anything one way or the other so whats the point in trying?

No, I don't as it is the only sanctioned method we have. Preaching the Word to people is the method that the Apostles and Jesus used and sanctioned. The rack might get a vocal acceptance but it is only through the faithful and respectful preaching of the Gospel that someone hears and makes a sincere commitment to Christ.

It's great. Bible ping-pong should be an Olympic sport.
Of course, the atheists would win because they generally have a better understanding of the bible than the Christians.

Actually a complete reading of the bible (cover to cover) is how most atheists I know lost faith to begin with. Once you read the whole book you realize how absurd it is, how inaccurate, self-contradictory, and so on.
If anything the bible is a powerful tool to convert people to atheism.

i never really TRY to convert atheists. and i dont use the bible. i use common knowledge. just because somebody says something, though, doesn't mean its true. atheists are atheists for a reason, its what they believe in. how do you feel when people come knocking at your door? you dont want someone up in your face, trying to change what you believe in, do you?
