Non-believers...I would rather put up with their "persecution" (really that is a total exaggeration) than see what some Christians say while trying to "save" all the world in the name of Jesus. Its so bad here that I am thinking I will have to leave because if I do not, I may lose my faith...not in God...but in other people who claim to be Christians.

Why do Christians feel the need to persecute non-believers?
Do they fear what they don't understand or do they resent the fact that a non-believer wants the Christian to mind his own business?

For something to be considered the truth, it must not be filled with lies.
Let's start with the world being older than the Bible says, there being no credible evidence for a worldwide flood, nor the possibility of all the animals at that time fitting on the arc as mentioned, nor the ability to gather all the animals when there are 7 continents, and there definitely was 5000 years ago. And this is just the first chapter!

Who is being persecuted?
I still have the right to answer this question and say, " I love Jesus Christ." I still have the right to go to church on Sunday morning. I still have the right to read my Bible anytime I please.
I'm able to do all of these things, and not risk physical punishment or legal prosecution. No one is going to kill me, put me in jail, or torture me. All that is going to happen is that someone might disagree with me, or say that my beliefs are "irrational".
Of course, if I wear my favorite orange shirt and walk down the street, I have just as much chance that someone will make fun of me for wearing my favorite shirt.
Christians have all kinds of rights in this country. Imagine the "persecution" that you go through now, and compare to the persecution that Jesus and the early Christians went through. Think about that -- and then THANK GOD you live in a country based on freedom!!

How are you being persecuted?
The vast majority of people in the USA are Christian are they not?
I am pagan and l am SURROUNDED by Christians everyday in my town. I am one of only four pagans in my town and we get A LOT OF FLACK.
Even your president is also Christian.
You are free to practice your religion aren't you?
Are you being fed to lions or hunted down?
Do you feel that someone not agreeing with you or wanting to join your faith is persecution?
If you do then you will have a very miserable time I'm afraid.
Get a thick skin.

I would like your definition of persecution. Are you talking about putting you in jail? Killing you? Throwing you out of your home? Or are you just talking about them saying they dont want to hear what you have to say? I seriously dont believe Christians are persecuted in the United States. How could them be, as they are the majority?

Returning the favor. Never had an athiest attack my beliefs or lack thereof, but plenty of christians have told me how bad a person I am, even though that is not what their own relgiious textst teach them. I went to church for many years, have brothers and cousins that are ministers. Know very very few that truly believe and practice their faith.

No, it's because Christians go out of their way to enforce their beliefs on others. If you didn't, atheists wouldn't attack your beliefs (as much). Even so, I wouldn't equate that with persecution. A difference of opinion is not persecution.
And it's not THE truth, it's your version of the truth.

How exactly are Christians persecuted? Are you referring to the Spanish Inquisition or the Holocaust? Oh, wait--that was Chistians persecuting non-believers. Sorry. I get confused sometimes.
